Would it be ok to combine Raw Organic Milk with Pasteurized Milk?!
We are paying almost $15 per gallon for raw organic milk!. The cost is so high that I can't buy ROM for my family of 11, (9 children) every week!.
This idea of mine is to combine 1 gallon of ROM and 1 gallon of pasturized milk might help stretch my dollars and keep the milk supply for my family more frequent!.
My common sense is telling me that the enzymes and good bacteria from ROM will mix with the pasturized milk!. Would this be something that I could do!?

Although its good in theory, no, the enzymes in ROM will not compensate for the bad stuff in pasteurized and homoginized milk-it would be a bit like mixing oil and water!. However, you COULD add some rice, nut, or other alternative milk to the ROM with decent results, You can also add spring water if you leave some of the cream in ROM-just be sure to give it a good shake before each use!. You could also use rice milk for things that don't require the full taste/texture of milk, such as cereals, baking, etc!. Homemade rice and nut milks are really easy to make (google it) You can also make good "milk" from buckwheat groats and quinoa!. I am fortunate enough to have my own cows, but during calving time, when the calves need the milk worse than I do, I just use alternative milks until there is more!. I must say that whoever is supplying your milk is "milking" their position-a gallon of fresh, raw, organic milk should be around 8 dollars a gallon!. Shame on them! By the way, please ignore the answers from those that buy into the whole pasturized milk theory-they are clearly not well versed on the wonderful benefits of raw milk, and shouldn't be answering questions they know nothing about!. Raw milk saved my life, where commercial milk darned near killed me!. Commercial milk is nasty stuff, full of growth hormones, bacteria, steroids, and milk from unhealthy, grain fed cattle-no WONDER many people are intolerant to it! Think about the "old days"-people milked their cows every morning, and made butter, cheese, yogurt, kefir, etc from it, and no one was "intolerant" or getting sick from it!. Raw milk is as nature intended it to be!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
In the EU you can't sell milk that isn' pasteurized these days!. That is because of the possibility of harmful bacteria in the milk!. I used to milk cows and sell unpasteurized milk 40 years ago!. It was great milk, but the laws are different today!. Most milk will keep as long as 10 days or more if kept in the fridge these days!. I would use the pasteurized milk as there are no benefits from it being raw as you put it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You're missing the point in using pasteurized milk!. Raw milk can carry such nasty diseases as tuberculosis and brucellosis!. If you mix raw milk with pasteurized milk you are still exposing yourself to the same bugs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
why do you need it pasteurized!? also be sure to only buy raw milk from grass-fed cows!. The uncooked milk of factory-farmed grain-fed cows are more likely to give you stomach bugs!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Unless you own the cow and take good care of her raw organic milk is not safe to drink!. Why not switch to soy milk!? No one ever caught tuberculosis or brucellosis from a soy bean!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
