Should all "natural flavors" be broken down and written out in the ingredients as to what they really are?!

Question: Should all "natural flavors" be broken down and written out in the ingredients as to what they really are!?
sometimes i wonder what "natural flavoring" is!.!.!.!. especially since i don't eat meat- what if natural flavorings contained animal products/byproducts that weren't milk, cheese or eggs!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Natural flavors DO contain animal ingredients, and often insects as well (google "carmine") Just because something is "natural" doesn't make it good-dog poo and cyanide are natural too-and I don't want anything to do with those! Yes, they should be labeled!. This applies to natural "colors" and "spices" as well!. Many times the ingredients IN ingredients are full of stuff you wouldn't suspect of coming from dead animals-another reason I eat only whole, organic foods-the less stuff I have to decipher, the better! A lot of those "natural" ingredients come from China-and I sure don't trust the sources they are coming from!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I totally get you! I mean, I wish they were!. I just try and stay away from food that is just labeled "Natural Flavorings"!. Some foods say "Natural Flavorings--Plant based, or plant derived" which helps!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It would be nice but it's doubtful it will happen!. Companies are not interested and shouldn't be forced to give away the full recipes for their products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That will never happen because even non-vegetarians would be up in arms over the weird crap that they try to call "food" or "natural"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, all those "flavorings" eventually end up being animal product!.

I think it should be and also "Spices" is another vague listing that needs to be specified!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
