Allergic to soy. Sigh. ?!

Question: Allergic to soy!. Sigh!. !?
Any suggestions what to cook instead of soy!? I absolutely adore certain 'fakey' comfort foods like veg burgers and especially fake meatballs in my spaghetti sauce!.

Will I have to live without them for the rest of my days!? Any recipe sites that might give me some ideas for homemade 'neatballs' etcetera!?

also, if anyone knows where I can purchase Quorn to ship into Canada (I know you CAN because the CBC mentioned companies willing to ship here) please tell me!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't feel so bad-in addition to soy, I am also allergic to wheat, corn, eggs, commercial dairy, nuts, tomatoes, and lots of other things that most vegetarians eat!. Soy is one of the hard ones to avoid, since its hidden in so many things and is also a primary food for vegetarians!. It can be done though, with a little creativity!. You will want to learn to cook things from scratch!. Keep in mind that most soy is genetically modified, and has been spliced with the DNA of many other common foods, like the ones mentioned above, which means you can develop allergies to those things too!. I use beans for alot of recipes, and find that they do very well as a substitute!. You can also make things like veggie burgers using oats, sunflower seeds, veggies, and seasoning-just mix what you like with a little mashed potato, form it into patties (or balls) and grill or saute them like you would your other items!. As for quorn, that another food I recommend avoiding!. Despite its claims, is not made from mushrooms, but is grown in vats from a man made fungus-I expect problems down the line from this unnatural "food"!. Try adding more whole foods into your diet, and you will soon find that you don't miss those "fake" "foods" after all!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use kelp instead of soy! It's not as good but works okay
