Question: Stringy Avocado!?!?!?!? !?
I just got some avocados a couple days ago and waited until they got a little soft!. They are not that soft but I don't like them when they are too hard!. Two of them were fine but I have one now that has brown stings in them!!! What the heck is that>!? A mutation!? I have never eaten an avocado with stringys in them!! ThanksWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
yes, avocados are high in monounsaturated fat, that's why they are good for you : ) the stringys are always there, they just aren't brown unless they get over ripe or something causes the fibers to go brown, nothing to worry about, if it still tastes good, eat itWww@FoodAQ@Com

i've never had a stringy one either!. I have however cut one open that wasn't ripe!. It was very tough and rubbery!. Now an over ripe avocado I've never had either!. I couldn't imagine it would be stringy!. Maybe it was just a bad avocado!. Could you return it to the store!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

just throw them away! but u still can eat them ! nothing to worry about remenber what haapen when u eat banana after half hour u start seeing those brown spots-

It's okay!.!.!. they're just overripe!. You can eat it if you want to!. I'd make it into guacamole (or an avocado lassi, if you like them)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
