Answers:
Vegetarians get their protein from food!.
Protein deficiency is is nearly nonexistent in the developed world except in those with severe eating disorders!.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12!.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended!.

It may help if you see proof that vegetarian people have the same potential as anyone else!.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise!?

A huge source of protein is soy and any soy products like tofu, veggie burgers, etc!. Another way vegetarians get protein is by combining a nut, legume, or seed with a grain product!. I can't remember why this is but when those thing are combined they make a whole source of protein!. For example: a peanut butter sandwich!. The nuts in the peanut butter combined with the grains in the bread make a good source of protein :) Other sources of protein include dairy products and the yolks of eggs!. However, protein isn't the only thing you should be concentrating on now that you've made a change to your diet - you've got to get all the other required nutrients in there too by eating a healthy balance of all the food groups!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You really don't need supplements to get enough protein!.

Westerners are obsessed with protein!. I heard the average American eats around 100 grams a day!! I think even 50 grams (the RDA) is excessive!.

Animal protein destroys your body, anyway!. It's the main cause of osteoporosis - saps the calcium from the bones!. It can cause all sorts of other problems!.

There are some plant-based foods which have higher protein content than eggs, milk and meat, for instance hemp seeds!. It isn't hard to get a good mix of aminos from seeds, nuts, grains, lentils etc, so supplements and protein drinks really aren't needed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say to eat beans is your best bet for protein vegetarian style!. If you're not vegan, then you could drink milk, too!. Eight grams of protein per cup! :) You could also eat yogurt!.!.!. Basically any dairy products have protein!. Egg is pretty much meat since it is a not-fully-grown chicken, so I wouldn't eat those!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Beans, nuts, tofu, eggs & cheese if that's your deal!.

Soya milk/yogurt/cheese also has a lot of protein if you're wanting to avoid animal products all together!. Rice & lentils are a nice quick meal that packs a lot of protein in if you're making foor at home!.

I've been veg for years so email me if you have any !?s!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians tend to get it through dairy products and eggs!. Vegans would go for nuts and pulses!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
