I don't personally know any vegetarians who happen to be Mexican, however, most of the vegetarian-friendly restaurants I have encountered are Mexican!.

It's sooo easy to make Mexican meals vegetarian!. You can make vegetable fajitas full of spices and sauces!. You can enjoy some tasty guacamole or salsa (made a million ways)!. You can have tacos will tofu, beans, rice, cheese, sour creme, cilantro, guacamole, peppers, pico de gallo, etc!. You can make a delicious black bean soup!.

I don't know how authentic or what style of Mexican food your family eats, however!. I have definately encountered Mexican eating styles that included everything from an animal (things I cannot bring myself to repeat) and there was nothing I ate off those menus but chips and guacamole with a glass of water!. So, just take what you know and put a veggie-twist on it!. If you're use to using certain spices, sauces, etc!. use them as well when able!. There are a lot of great, Mexican inspired vegetarian recipes online if you just search!

my boyfriend is mexican and is vege now but when he was was a child and his father was alive, he ate meat ONLY!. i am not mexican so i cannot speak for the cultural contexts related to vegetarianism!. however, I have been vegan and vegetarian and know what its like to deal with an unsupportive family as a teenager!. I would just point out that you dont need a lot of extra stuff to make it work, just more veggies, grains, and maybe some tofu etc for protien!. each family has different concerns about vegetarianism (economic, health, having to prepare seperate meals, etc) so just think about the best way to go about it!. good luck and you are making a good choice!Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeeeeeees i'm totally a mexican vegetarian!. tell them! they most likely won't agree, but hopefully they can support it!. buy soy meat stuff to make similar meals you used to eat!. like for tacos use ground veggie meat!. stuff like that, it's super healthy & less fattening than meat!. although!.!. i wish they wouldn't make it look like meat!. YES!!! I go to church with one!.!.!. what he does is that he buys his own soy and tofu stuff and his parents were really supportive and so they buy that stuff for him now!.!.!. and at times they eat is as well!.!.!.!. At your age it isn't exactly healthy to go completely vegetarian so i would start cutting down the portions that you eat and then eventually work up to the whole no meat thing!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are plenty of Mexican vegetarians! If you live in No Cal, check out Flacos, a vegan Mexican place!. http://www!.flacos!.com/ The owner, Antonio, grew tired of eating rice and beans so he opened up this business!. The food is great!Www@FoodAQ@Com
