At your age I wouldn't recommend a radical shift in your diet as it may make you ill!.

A healthy diet contains:

plenty of starchy foods like bread, rice, pasta, breakfast cereals, potatoes, yams and sweet potatoes - look for higher fibre versions where possible (like wholemeal bread or pasta)

at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables daily

moderate amounts of dairy products (or alternatives) - look for low fat versions where possible

moderate amount of meat, fish or alternatives like eggs, beans, peas and lentils - look for lower fat versions where possible

the occasional treat (foods that are higher in fat, salt or added sugar should only be eaten in moderation)

little salt - always read the label

I know from reading your other questions you've put on 22lbs but the best way to lose it is to cut your calories down to 1500 and get regular exercise!. Try starting off with walking for 30 mins every day for a week then add 30 minutes every week thereafter!.

You'll see a difference in the second week!. if you want more help email me x

Stay away from soy!. They truly best diet is the Raw Foodist diet!.I know from personal experience!. Plus it's the most logical!.

But since that's morose a step up from being a vegetarian, you may think it's nonsense!. But you have to read to gain the truth!.

When it comes to protein, just about everything has it!? There are different proteins that are complete proteins and incomplete ones!. You should try to consume almonds and other complete proteins!.

One ounce of beans has nearly twice as much protein as an ounce of beef!.

All the other fats and vitamins will come from different foods!. Meat is only a complete protein but with hormones, cholesterol, saturated fats and tapeworms(possibly)!. You have not lost much, only a consistent diet!. Meat is placed as the foundation of most meals so you will have issues creating a balanced diet if you only try to cut out meat!.

Read, read and read!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A friend of mine once told me to try and include a root, a shoot and a fruit in your meals - you can't do it every meal (beans on toast fails this criteria!), but if you think aboout your main meal of the day, generally I think it works!

Don't get picky about the definitions!.!.just mix and match!
roots - potatoes, carrots, onion, !.!.!.
shoots - cabbage, lettuce, mushroom,!.!.!.
fruit - corn, beans, pulses, nuts, fruit !.!.!.

[and if you eat beansprouts!.!.!.its a root and a shoot and a fruit all together!]

Most nutrients are more than amply supplied by a veggie diet, but you are right to pay particular attention to getting protien, also think carefully about iron (vit C helps your absorb iron too)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get some nuts like walnuts and almonds to have when you are hungry!. Apart from that, you can enjoy banana smoothies made with soy milk, vegetarian spaghetti made with egg plant, salads, sweet potatos, and loads more!.! If you're not vegan there are lots of egg/milk recipes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get yourself a couple vegetarian cookbooks!.

Replace meat in your diet with: beans, peas, nuts, seeds, and whole grains!. If your going to eat eggs and dairy like most vegetarians do; they will provide a lot of protein and nutrients too!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's actually extremely easy to be a vegetarian, just eat more fruits and vegetables and add walnuts, mushrooms and beans to your diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
