Is it normal for my body to react like this when accidently consumed a meat product?!
I was at a friends place today for a barbecue and because im a vegetarian we arranged for me to grill those "veggie" sausages made from soy separately from the actual ones my friends had eaten!.
after preparing my hotdog, i left my plate nearby and went downstairs to greet a guest who just arrived!. By the time i got back somehow the plate that I left for myself and someone else's plate ended up getting mixed up when serving everybody!. I started binging the hotdog on my plate only realize it wasn't the one made from soy!
After a few moments i started to feel real sick in the stomach!. After an hour or so I felt a bit better although a bit dizzy but could this be because my system isn't used to such foods!? Ive been a life long vegetarian all my 23 years so far and intend to be!
Has something like this every happen to you if your a fellow veggie!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

I had a similar situation a few months ago!. My boyfriend and I were going to a concert in Annapolis, MD, not exactly a hotbed of veg-friendliness!. We found a Johnny Rockets, which has a veggie burger, and ordered those!. However, within a couple of hours, my stomach was acting up the way it used to the last few years I was an omni!. Let's just say it involved a little longer than normal on the toilet!. That, I'm sure, was a physical reaction, and it's probably that they cook my veggie burger in meat grease--ick!
You, however, reacted quickly, so it could be partially a psychological reaction!. Don't sweat it; you had taken a few bites before realizing it was meat!. Just be more careful next time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's definitely a mental reaction!. Even if the hotdog was thickly covered in green mold it would take a lot longer than a few moments for it to affect you!. I think you just freaked yourself out!.
Eating meat after a long hiatus will not affect you physically!. That's just a little something they like to tell you here to scare you away from eating any meat!. Your body creates digestive enzymes on a case by case basis and doesn't "forget" over periods of time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Psychological!. If you could get ill from simply eating foods your system isn't used to, you'd get ill whenever you tried something for the very first time!.
Quite a few times in my 20+ years of vegetarianism, meat has accidentally found its way into my food (vegetable lasagna made with meat sauce, etc!.) and nothing at all happened to me physically!. I said "oops" and moved on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the same thing happened to my mother after she went back to meat after several years of being a vegetarian!.!. what happens is: your body stops producing the enzymes needed to break down the meat when you eat it!. and when you eat the meat your body doesn't know what to do with it right away, and kind of freaks out!. once your brain realizes that you can digest what you just ate, you start making the enzymes again, and it will digest!. it's not a big deal!. I think it was a psychological thing that made you sick, you realized you were eating real meat and it upset you, thus giving you the queasy feeling
edit: the only way the meat itself would have made you feel ill would be if it was left unrefridgerated too long, or was contaminated in some other wayWww@FoodAQ@Com

not as of yet! I only turned veggie 6 months ago and am EXTREMELY careful not to eat meat!. I read that it is normal to feel weird after eating mean!. Just like, for a vegan, eating dairy would cause the body to feel dizzy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I can see how realizing this mix up must have turned your stomach just by the thought of it!. Since it sounds like it happened instantaneously, I think it was most likely 99!.9% just in your head!. Good for you being veggie all your life! Cheers!Www@FoodAQ@Com
One time I ordered something that I request for without meat!.!.!.they included the meat, so I picked it out!. I ate the rest of the food, and definitely got sick!.!.!.upset stomach/nausea!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
I was a vegetarian for 20 years and nothing weird happened to me when I stopped!. It's an individual thing I think - but in your case I'd say it was psychological!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Salutations,
Did you get sick simply because you knew you ate meat, and had to unconsciously punish yourself!. sounds like Pavlov's syndrome too me!. CheersWww@FoodAQ@Com

it was probably more psychological that physical!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
no,it's not normal!.it's just your body getting in it that is solid, and has alot of protienWww@FoodAQ@Com
this was a mental reaction not a physical!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
yes i understand exactly!.!.!.!. the same thing happened to me a few months ago!.!.!. i had gradually stopped eating meat!.!.!. i stopped in phases!.!.!. i would stop eating beef and pork!.!. then i stopped eating turkey and chicken and then i eat fish lightly!.!.!. a friend of mine had a party at his house and there were all kinds of finger foods like chicken wings and other meats!.!.!. i ate a chicken wings and not long after i felt very dizzy and felt a strong spirt of nausea!.!.!. i sat down in a chair to relax and soon after i felt better!.!.!. once you go vegetarian!.!.!. your body adapts to it and rejects foreign foodsWww@FoodAQ@Com
It's a perfectly normal reaction, although as someone pointed out, it could have been mind-over-matter since it happened right away!. I've been pescatarian for nearly 2 years, but I have definitely reacted to accidental ingestion of meat and meat-products before!. One time at a restaurant, I had a pasta dish that apparently had bacon fat in the sauce, and it put me out of commission for the evening (stomach cramps and such)!. I suggest drinking some hot honey-lemon water or a chamomile tea!. It's nothing serious -- your stomach just doesn't waste energy producing enzymes you don't need (until, of course, you accidentally ingest meat)!. :) Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you had symptoms that quickly after eating, then I would say it was psychological!. Accidentally eating pure 100% meat(like a big steak ) would put pretty immediate stress on your digestion, pretty much as soon as it hits your stomach, and in that case, then yes!.!.it would probably be your body struggling to cope with the digestion !. The actual 'meat' content of the average hotdog is diddly squat , and if any meat is in it, it is processed to pap !.!.!.so I think that in this instance, it was probably psychological or if you eat a nearly additive free diet, it could well have been the extreme preservatives, colourings and flavourings used to make hotdogs edible !!. I have numerous food allergies and have learned to guard my plate with my life(literally !!)Www@FoodAQ@Com
do u realize you are a Human and should eat meat it has vital minerals that your bodie needs that u cant get from non meat products!. anyways, Yes your body is not used to meat just keep eating meat and it will go away, i feel sick sometimes when i eat sald or non meat things so i do know how u feel!. but your body does need some things that meat has to offer so u should think about your health and start eating some meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
