Do you think more of us should be vegetarian?!

Question: Do you think more of us should be vegetarian!?
I'm thinking of giving it a try!. The thought of some pour animal dying so that we can eat for our pleasure is awful!.
We don't eat people so why eat animals!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Of course more people should be vegetarian!. It's better for the environment and for the animals!. When we give our money for a steak or chicken strip we are essentially saying to the meat industry, "Kill that animal for me so I can have meat!." You have to ask yourself one question: could you kill the animal yourself for your meal!? I couldn't do it!. And we don't need animal products in our diet!. So why contribute to torture and slaughter if we don't need to!?

Here's a great documentary you should check out: http://video!.google!.com/videoplay!?docid=!.!.!. It's about an hour and a half but it's well worth it!

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet!." ~Albert EinsteinWww@FoodAQ@Com

I am not sure SHOULD is the right word, but WOULD is-imagine if everyone had to hunt, catch, kill, slaughter, and butcher their own meats-how many veggies do you suppose there would be!? Most people only eat meat because someone else did the dirty work and it comes all neatly and cleanly packaged!. I know I certainly don't have the stomach or guts to catch my own, so I am a vegetarian!. I figure if I am too weak hearted to catch and kill it, then I have no business eating it!. I have much more respect for those who hunt their own meat than for someone who eats it just because its so readily available!. It is sadistic that humans satisfy their tastebuds on the blood of some poor defenseless animal, especially when there are so many non animal foods that are tasty, nourishing and healthy!. I see no need to put dead critters on the table, personally!. Most people woudnt eat a dog, cat, or parrot, so why is a cow, pig, or chicken okay to consume!? Makes no sense to me!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that people who want to be vegetarian should be, but those who don't want to have a right to continue eating meat!. No one can force their opinions on others, nor will you ever convince the majority of the world to give up meat!. However, I do believe that the more people deciding to go vegetarian and showing the world they care about the rights of animals, the better!

Good for you deciding to try it out, though! I hope it works out well for you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. Our body's digestive system is quite different from the intestines of a carnivorous meat eating animal!. Our gut is made for vegetables!.
People are getting diseases from eating animals and animal products!.
Scientists are now proving with evidence we were not hunters of animals in prehistoric times, but we were hunted and prey to bigger animals!. They have found animal teeth marks on skeletons!.

I agree with you!.!.!. But i have a friend who thinks that animals are just dumb and noone cares about them!.!.!. Those were her exact words!.!.!. also she told me that noone cares about the dumb farm animals and i won't make a difference!.!.!. P!.S!. i am vegan!.!.!. she only cares about the "normal" animals like cats, dogs, hamsters, and such!.!.!.
Some believe that they are just stupid animals and its the food chain to eat them!.!.!. I believe that they deserve just as much respect as humans cuz we too are animals and technology does not make us above them!.!.!. I also believe they do not deserve to die that way (throats slit, boiled, and much more while still alive)!.!.!. I believe if everyone saw the horrors of what goes on there some too would go vegetarian and some more even vegan if they understood what happens on their "farms"!.!.!. it would be a perfect society that way with everyone or most everyone vegan or veggie (imagine how much easier shopping would be lol)!.!.!. but i don't think everyone will turn that way!.!.!. I am happy that i have the willpower and the knowledge to make that decision!.!.!. I will not force my way of life down their throats, and they need to do the same (tho rude comments are what i always get)!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it would be less wasteful and more humane if more people were veggie,

I've not eaten meat for many years - eventually you just get used to a different way of eating/a different set of ingredients, but to start off with you have to be mindful that you get a balanced diet!. Why not 'go veggie' gradually, just have some meat-free days until you go for it full-time!. There are some great-tasting veggie meals which some people miss out on because they are stuck in a meat-eating routine eg why go for another boring chicken korma, when you could have a lovely dish made with paneer!?

I, personally, think that everyone should be!. However, that is my PERSONAL view!. I also realize that it's not going to happen!. My choice is my choice and yours is yours!. However, Americans do eat more meat than the rest of the world!. I read an article that said that the way that we used to eat meat was very sparingly even 40 years ago!. Cancer anyone!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because animals are not people!. Please realize that not everyone has the same views!. Ethics and morals are different from person to person!.

To state an opinion as fact is ignorant!.< to think otherwise is bigotry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes I do!. However, be careful of taking it to the extreme!. If you don't watch out after awhile you will find that you will start leaning toward the sun!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO, meat is way too good to give up on! Animals eat other animals all the time, and some animals eat humans too so screw it lets all eat each other!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

well if you think of animals it will make you want to try but it is totally your choice people here can not answer this question for youWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes! do it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If we didn't eat animal products those animals would never exist!.
Livestock animals couldn't survive in the wild, and in any case they live a much better life than wild animals!. They get all the food they want without effort and are protected from predators and disease!. Not a bad life, and many of them live longer than comparable wild animals, too!.
They even die better!. One hard whack to the head and they are out of it!. Compare that with the death of a deer, still alive while being torn to pieces by a pack of coyotes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
