Do peppermints contain gelatin?!


Question: Do peppermints contain gelatin!?
I was just wondering if those little round white and red peppermint candies contain gelatin, because I tried looking it up and I couldn't find it anywhere!. Please helppppp!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Probably not!. At least Brach's (a leading producer) don't!.

INGREDIENTS: Sugar, Corn Syrup, Citric Acid, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Artificial Color (Blue #1, Blue #2, Red #3, Red #40, Red 40 Lake, Yellow #5, and Yellow #6)
MAY CONTAIN: Salt, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oil)

Depends on the brand!. Traditionally, most just use corn syrups!. Especially since they are hard candies!. Gelatin or butter would be found in soft ones or gummy ones!.

Starlight Peppermints (the ones you described) you can buy from Brachs!.
Since they are mainstream I'd stick with them!. They have no gelatin listed!.

As far as Independent companies!.!.!.I'd stay on the safe side and say no!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some do, some don't!. You have to read the labels!. Others have mentioned the Starlight candies, which appear to be vegan!. Newman's Own makes mints that are vegan, as does a company called Vermints!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
