Vegeterians...I have a question for you?!

Question: Vegeterians!.!.!.I have a question for you!?
How long have you been a vegetarian!? I have been on a vegetarian diet since this past May (though I ate chicken about three times between the months of May and August) but my immune system has been acting up lately!. After I had been on the diet for a month, I got sick; I got a really disgusting “fever-blister moustache”!. When I went to the doctor, he said the change in diet could have been a factor!. I remained on the diet though!. Though, these past few days my body has been acting up!. About two weeks ago I experienced body-paralysis (I had never experienced it before) and lately I have been experiencing extreme shortness of breath!. For some reason it becomes even more evident when I urinate; I almost fell over the toilet yesterday because I felt as if though I was going to faint!. Do you know if it might be malnutrition!? What vitamins should I be taking!? I also heard fish contained some nourishing properties that helped people regulate their hearts…what vitamin/pill could I take to supplement fish and get the fortifying properties found in fish!? Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are quite likely dealing with a food allergy!. When you switched your diet, did you start substituting meat with things like soy!? Most soy is genetically modified, and is the leading cause of adult onset food allergies!. You may have also increased your consumption of other allergenic foods, such as wheat, wheat gluten (in many veggie foods) corn, or other common allergens!. You might try keeping a food journal for a few weeks to see if you can identify your triggers (document EVERYTHING you consume-drinks, mints, gum, candy, toothpaste, etc) and see if you find a pattern!. keep in mind that it may take up to three days from the time you consume an offending food until it presents symptoms!. The fact that it is more prevalant when you urinate is because then your body is ridding itself of the toxin, and it re-exposes the allergen!. Its much less likely that you are malnourished-that takes a very long time to manifest, as a rule!. I do NOT recommend supplements or vitamins-they are often full of the very things you are reacting to!. Ask your doctor to give you allergy tests-they are usually a good starting point, but a journal will give you the most answers!. You should also check your blood sugar-the symptoms you describe can be a sign of high or low blood sugar, and could also explain the issue when you urinate!. Blood sugar levels are quite easily controlled with proper diet!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds like you need to go back to the doctor and get some tests done!. It could be a coincidence that you changed your diet at the same time, or as others have said, it could be an allergy or something!.

It sounds like you are eating fairly well!. Deficiencies in things like protein and vitamin B12 often take years to show up so I would be suspecting some other illness!.

I'm not trying to worry you, but it sounds more serious than just a change of diet, so get checked out and get better soon!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well you should be taking iron and salmon oil and vitamin b12 at least!. I have been a vegetarian for about 6 years and there have even been studies that if you get the right nutrients vegetarians have less health problems and live longer lives then most meat eaters!.also you could eat beans, eggs, and protein bars to get enough protein!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarianism isnt for everyone, and it may not be for you!. But are you just eating crap food!? Or are you still eating well balanced meals!? You should be able to eat vegetarian without such extreme effects!.!.!.!.I'd go back to the doctor for a blood test!.!.!.they'll be able to tell you what you need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

!.!.!.!.how is salmon oil vegetarian!?

anyway vegetarian diets can be very healthy but you need to make sure you are getting adequate amounts of nutrients!.
It just sounds like you are lacking something important!.
What do you eat in a typical day!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

The probability is that it may be nothing to do with your diet!. Your question should be asked to your doctor, not on here!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Adopting a healthy vegetarian diet isn't as simple as scraping meat off your plate and eating what's left!. You need to take extra steps to ensure you're meeting your daily nutritional needs!. Vegetarian diet planning A healthy vegetarian diet consists primarily of plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds!. Because the emphasis is on nonmeat food sources, a vegetarian diet generally contains less fat and cholesterol, and typically includes more fiber!. Vegetarians fall into groups defined by the types of animal-derived foods they eat: Vegans eat only plant-based foods!. They don't eat foods from animals, including meat, poultry, fish, milk, eggs and cheese!. Lacto-vegetarians consume milk and milk products along with plant-based foods!. They omit eggs as well as meat, fish and poultry!. Lacto-ovo vegetarians eat eggs, milk and milk products, such as cheese and yogurt, in addition to plant-based foods!. They omit red meat, fish and poultry!. Flexitarians (semivegetarians) primarily follow a plant-based diet but occasionally eat small amounts of meat, poultry or fish!. To keep your vegetarian diet on track, you may find using a vegetarian food pyramid helpful!. This pyramid outlines various food groups and food choices that, if eaten in the right quantities, form the foundation of a healthy vegetarian diet!. No matter what your age or situation, a well-planned vegetarian diet can meet your nutritional needs!. Even children and teenagers can do well on a plant-based diet, as can older people, and pregnant or breast-feeding women!. If you're unsure whether a vegetarian diet is right for you, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

how many calories are you eating a day!? i would suggest keeping track of what you eat for 1 week then going to see your doctor with that list!. you could even do it online and get a more comprehensive list of what nutrients you're lacking at www!.fitday!.com!. also, deffinitly take a B12 and multi vitamin!.

i get sleep paralysis alot, since way before i went vegan!. it's supposedly harmless and genetice!. if you're taking a sleep aide that could be a big contributor!.

go to GNC, they have a smoragboard of great vitamin, fish oils, exc!.

lastly, make sure you're getting enough sleep and if you workout, that you're not over training!.

hope this helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

im sorry but i have know idear on what medicines u should be taking because mainly im 14!!.!.!.!.!.
um ive been a veggie all my life i have not experienced any illnesses such as you have described but i think that you have changed ur diet to fast you should have cut down on the red meat and ate more beans and then cut down on the chickens and stuff!., i am trying to become vegan i have slowly cut down on milk im into soya, i have given up ice cream too!.!.!.!. but its really hard to give up chocolate :D
so good luck with the future and i hope you feel better soonWww@FoodAQ@Com

Well if you eat a lot of beans then your iron can't be bad!. I suggest you have a blood test, and check your blood pressure - I had a fainting problem a few months ago and it was because my blood pressure was ridiculously low!. But that stopped pretty quickly when I decided to drink more soy milk for vitaminB12!.
It might be a food allergy!. Have you had an allergy test!?
You could always try some iron and vitaminB12 pills to be safe!.
You might be low in omega3, found in fish!. Vegetarian sources of omega3 include walnuts and canola oil!. Try to find food fortified with omega3 (but make sure its not from fish oil)!.
Hope you feel better soon!.

Vegetarian for I year and 16 daysWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you eat a lot of quesadillas, I assume your chese intake is rather high!. You might want to make a tofu cheese instead!. I'm sure eating all that cheese is having it's reactions!.
Fish oil has Omega 3 fatty acids, which are also found in flax seed oil, so you might want to buy some flax seed oil capsules as a vegetarian alternative to Fish oil capsules!.You may be allergic to something you are eating!. Next time you're at the doctors, you could ask for some food allergy tests if it's not too expensive!.
Bread, and milk are common allergens!.
If you have been dieting, then you should take some multi vitamins so you get all your vitamins and minerals, because crash dieting can cause illness!.
