I ate some chicken nuggets that were meant to be veggie nuggets!. But McDonald's gave us a refund and tonnes of free stuff so I didn't mind to muchWww@FoodAQ@Com

Meat flavored anything doesn't necessarily have meat in it!. You have to check the label!. My dad is a vegetarian and we bought him some soup and he refused to eat it because he read on the label "beef broth", but the can said it was vegetarian friendly!. At my school, they have a vegetarian station, but my friend who is a vegetarian also stopped eating at school because they had an accident and she wasn't okay with that!.

And sometimes in restaurants, you can't always be sure that there is no meat in the vegetables!. I used to work at Cracker Barrel and I used to hear all the time people who are vegetarians want all these vegetables, but what they don't know is that some of the vegetables have meat or a meat stock in it!.

So, really, being vegetarian means checking labels and checking out places to make sure they really are vegetarian friendly!.

Oh, and don't worry so much about the flack you might get because you eat gelatin, fish, eggs, etc!. Not every vegetarian is a vegan!. Those are different things!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Congratulations on almost being a vegetarian!.

The gelatin usually comes from bones, tissues, organs, and intestines of animals!. Some of the chicken flavor noodles may not have real chicken broth in them!. Check the label!. I try to stay away from all of that stuff, although eating out can be a bit more challenging if you are trying to stay away from dairy and eggs too!. You do the best you can and as your conscience dictates!. While one person can become a vegan overnight, someone else may take a more gradual approach!.

I'm sure you will do fine, and I appreciate that you are asking these questions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds like you're not really a vegetarian!.
You're still eating products that contain animal (by-products)!.

also, it depends upone why you became a "vegetarian"!.
Animal welfare!? Then you're not meeting that goal!.
Health reasons!? Maybe!.!.!. However, you really shouldn't call yourself a vegetarian since you still eat products derived from animal meat or animal killing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gelatin is animal by-product (fat)!.

Chicken-flavor!.!.!. how do you think they make the "flavor"!?!?

Marshmallows are also not permitted because they contain animal by-products!.

Vegetables often use manure for fertilization, so you should probably cut out those as well or make sure you get certified vegetarian vegetables!.

Basically, you can only eat tofu and bean sprouts for the rest of your life!.

Come over to our side, where we eat rare steaks!. It's glorious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was a vegetarian for 3 years before I got pregnant!. In the beginning I made the mistake of eating a vegetable soup that contained chicken stock, and I ate in a restaurant that prepared many of its dishes using lard or bacon grease in place of butter of vegetable shortening!. Eat what you want, it's still a healthier option!. Don't let the vegetarian and vegan nazis put you down, everyone makes mistakes!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

im a pretty die hard vegan, so i wouldn't eat any of that!.
but even if gelatin has animal by product in it, not eating meat is making a huge impact itself, so dont let anyone hassle you about it!. its up to you what you consume, noone else!. if you keep eating the way you do, you may choose to stop eating those foods because you want to!. however, chicken broth isnt considered vegetarian, i would say you could still call yourself vegetarian and eat gelatin though, same idea as consuming dairy, wearing leather, and eating eggs if you ask me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i hardly ever eat meat!.!.!.i mean hardly ever, ever, ever!.!.!.but on the very rare occasion that i do (and that is usually because im starving and the only thing to eat is meat) people TOTALLY FREAK OUT and say!.!.!.I THOUGHT YOU WERE A VEGETARIAN!!!!!

so i say, do vegetarians freak out when carnivores eat a carrot!?!?!?!? NO!

do whatever you like and eat whatever you freakin like because it's not anybodies business but yours! if you feel good about it then it's right for you!.!.!.!.!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

you might be right about those noodles, but i would read the package very carefully, there is probably some chicken broth or something used in the flavoring!.
as far as gelatin, yeah, they aren't killed for it, but the meat industry is making money off of it!. but ultimately, its all about what you want to do, its your life and your decision!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegetarian but I'm not what you would call a die hard one!. I don't dissect every label for any hint of animal stuff!. Once my BF's grandmother gave me a dip with chicken in it!. Which she didn't tell me till it was in my mouth!. I slipped out when she wasn't looking and spit it out!. (she forgot I didn't eat meat)Www@FoodAQ@Com

ive been a vegetarian now for a while now!. i never think gelatin is part of an animal so i dont think it counts after all vegigans just dont eat meat i eat gelatin i think your alright with that!. once i ate meat i was so angry but i got over it it wasnt my fault that i ate it in the first place
Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes!.!.!. I ate a black bean soup in which was based on beef broth!. I knew right away however the waiter said "No sir!.!.!. that is bean soup"!. After the manager came over, he admitted that it was beef based and said I didn't have to pay for it!.!.!. Gee thanks :0(Www@FoodAQ@Com

well ur not vegetarian then----u just avoiding meat which is also good-- but dont call urself vegetarian please ur not ! real veggies or vegan
dont eat meat/or any other products containng animal fats/flavours etc!.!.!.!.!.!.
Www@FoodAQ@Com

Unless you prepare all your food yourself and eat out not prepared by you it is a toss up!. I would guess even chicken flavored is not allowed!?

? ? Inez/Inescia ? ?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gelatin is animal fat!.And chicken flavored noodles are not okay for vegatarians to eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeah once we ate soy meat, but it was soy meat and some meat, and i was really mad,but it was not my intention to eat meat *sigh*

yes almost everything bhas a little bit off meat in itWww@FoodAQ@Com

SomeTimes Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it has any meat protein you have left the green sideWww@FoodAQ@Com

Most vegetarians are hypocrites, eating gelatine is just fine!. Like you're saying the animals aren't bred and slaughtered for the gelatine alone, it's a refined bi-product!. It's all about WHY you don't eat the meat, pherhaps you're just not comfortable with the taste, or for whatever other reason you may have!.

Vegetarians thinking that they don't live of the killing of animals are a joke though, I see so many of them driving cars with leather seats or who've got leather belts and shoes!. Crops do kill animals aswell and lots of them, most people are just too stupid to realise it because they've never been working on a field!. Oh and what about roadkills, or pesticide!?

We all live at the expense of other lives, it's stupid to think otherwise!.

A bit of meat is no big deal!.!.!.

When meat is served on a party for instance, the animal is already dead!. There's very litle reason to not eat it, in fact you would be doing the environment a disfavor not to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You eat gelatin!? Gelatin is just rendered down animal fat!.!.!. You're eating animals still!.!.!. You're not a vegetarian, you're just a hypocrite!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're good!. Keep eating vegetarian, it's healthy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
