Could you be a vegan?!

Question: Could you be a vegan!?
Answers:
I already am, and I find a great variety of foods to eat!. If I eat salads, it's either because I'm trying to be healthy or because the omni restaurant some family members have dragged me to don't serve real food!.

And I have no problem finding all sorts of sweet goodies, but then I do live a 15-minute walk from a vegan bakery and know of several vegan online retailers that offer excellent junk food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am, but I miss being able to buy cookies :(
Have to make some on the weekend before I explode!

To the person above me, I've been vegetarian (well vegan, but I usually refer to myself as vegetarian because most people - except for my history teacher - are fine with vegetarians, but when the v word is uttered, most people go "what the #$@& ") for about a year, and I'm healthy!. I saw a dietitian who really helped, so according to my blood tests, I'm perfectly healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

YES!. I CAN!.
I put questions myself to get answers!.

Isn't it hard being a vegetarian!?
Not at all!. Vegetarian food is widely available in shops and restaurants, it's easy to cook and you're probably already eating many vegetarian meals such as beans on toast or jacket potato and cheese without even putting your mind to it!. It's no sacrifice to give up meat when there are so many delicious recipes and so many tasty foods to experiment with!. Plus you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you're eating a healthy diet that doesn't involve the killing of animals or the abuse of the world's resources!.

What do I say to my family/friends!?
Don't get caught up in arguments, just gather all the information about vegetarianism so you can calmly explain your decision!. Then try introducing them to some of the delicious meat-free meals you're enjoying and see if you can win them over by setting a good example!.

With the hundreds of different vegetables, grains, fruit, pulses and nuts and seeds that exist, you could live to be 100 without exhausting all the possibilities for imaginative, nutritious meals! And as vegetarian food tends to be cheaper than a meat-based diet, you can afford to treat yourself to more expensive delicacies such as asparagus!.
A well-balanced vegetarian diet provides all the nutrients you need for good health!. In the case of protein, it's not only found in meat!. It's also present in adequate quantities in dairy products, eggs and nuts, as well as in combinations of foods such as pulses and grains!.

I think I could be vegan!. However, I'm not vegan because I don't have any real motivation to go vegan!. I went vegetarian for health reasons 7 1/2 years ago, and that has worked out just fine for me!. Don't get me wrong; I do like many vegan dishes and restaurants!. I just don't have much motivation to give up dairy products and eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"What happens to a Russion, to a Czech, does not interest me in the slightest!. !.!.!.Whatever nations live in prosperity or starve to death interests me only in so far as we need them as slaves for our culture!."
--Heinrich Himmler, commander of the Nazi SS, 1943

"Animals are groceries!. They're leather and fur coats!. They're for medical experiments and galloping the hounds!. That's their purpose!. I, as a human being, declare it!."
--L!.Neil Smith, The Libertarian Enterprise, 1996

Conclusion
-------------------------
"For centuries, oppressors have justified exploitation and abuse of their "victims" for economics, social and scietific reasons!. Eventually most societies have come to understand that there are no valid justification for slavery!. Today, as we continue to fight against social injustice and discrimination, the same excuse used throughout history to justify the oppression of human are now being used to justify the oppression of animals!.
Thus one day, I would be a vegan"!. This statement knocked my head 10 years ago!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i don't think i could!. because i love chocolate and i couldn't be satisfied with vegan chocolate!. i like yogurt, milk, honey, polen!.!.!. sorry, but no!. maybe for a few days, temporarily, probably i could, but not as a lifestyle!. it seems to me very strict and i don't have the necessary will, plus i don't see anything wrong with milk products or honey!.!.!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. I wouldn't want to be, and my cardiologist and dietician have recommended that I do not even adopt a vegetarian diet!. Because of my dietary restrictionsand medications, they feel it would be too hard to get the necessary nutrients in my diet!.

They have, however, recommended a significant REDUCTION in the amount of animal based foods I eat!.

No, Sorry I am the exact opposite of a veggie or vegan!

I don't like, yogurts/veg/fruit/pastas/pizzas/ pulses,etc!., etc!.,
I also don't eat fish/shellfish!.!.!.!.!.can't eat cheese cooked in anyway it makes me sick - voilently sick I might add, sorry!.
I love meat/chicken, hot spicy food, so long as its not sloppy, hate wet gooey foods, I detest carrots, broccoli,cabbage!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

You think feeding a veggie is hard work, try keeping me happy for a week!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes and I have been for 15 years!.

I haven't given anything up however

Devouring muscle from something I am 99% genetically related to is pretty close to just taking a bite out of my own mother

Drinking and eating products from another species excretions (eg cows milk) really can't be natural behaviour for any thinking species

And eating bird periods (some may call them eggs) is quite replusive as well

not even considering how humans treats animals during their lives!. And we only do it because we can, not because we need toWww@FoodAQ@Com

Not easily!. I really, really, really like dairy!. My body doesn't, I'm allergic to milk protein, but I still find myself seduced by cheese!. I try to buy local and organic as I understand the commercial dairy industry!. I have been making an effort to reduce my dairy intake!. I have a giant bucket of nutritional yeast in my cupboard but it doesn't do the same magic with macaroni!. I'm told the taste for it will develop if I keep trying ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, and I have been for about a decade!. I was always so sick and run down so my doctor recommended cutting meat out of my diet!. It improved my quality of life to the point I went fully animal-free and will never look back!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i've been vegeterian for almost two years and i couldn't do it!.
i've tried, but everything i eat seems to have some sort of animal product in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Absolutely, I was for about 2 years but being vegan takes a lot of work and effort to balance your diet to make sure you get what you need!.

I didn't do that and ended up really sickWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I am vegan, it's easy, you just have to know what's what and don't compromise!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not only could but am and have been for over 2 years now!.
Www@FoodAQ@Com

No I wouldn't want to be, couldn't even be vegetarian!. I love meat too muchWww@FoodAQ@Com

no, not in million years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am almost but I do fall off the wagon sometimes and indulge in dairy products!. Naughty me!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only on the weekends!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no chance,id like to be,but i just couldnt do it lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

Already am!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yup!. =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

no wayWww@FoodAQ@Com

perhaps, if i disregard all the meat, dairy and other animal products that i eat EVERY DAY (seriously)!. If you eat only salads and non animal foods then your life must really suck, and i feel sorry for you!. You only get one life and you choose to not eat nutrients and delicious food!. Wild animals eat more meat on a daily basis than you!. You must also be very privileged, to be able to choose not to eat a certain type of food!. Yet their are tons of starving humans out in africa!. Good job on being an inconsiderate jerk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the only reason mammals, thats you,are the most succesful species on the planet is their diversity of food sources,,,giant pandas, bamboo shoots, dont go there, all specialist feeders are a dying breed when their food supply dwindles,You have also developed the most resilient digestive system to digest a huge variety of foods,
but if you want to deny all that go ahead and eat grassWww@FoodAQ@Com

humans didnt climb to the top of the food chain to eat carrots and soy all day!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

no because its unhealthy!. eating animals and drinking their milk gives us many healthy benafits

u cant give me 1 good reason to stop eating meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

I like meat too much xWww@FoodAQ@Com
