Vegan for over a year and had enough...?!
well not quite but it's getting that way!.
I'm going through a lot of crap at the moment and i'm really stressed and ill, occasionally depressed too!.
Since going vegan i've gotten a never ending stream of bull crap thrown at me by everyone!. I get not sympathy or respect for my problems and everyone genuinely believes eating an omnivore diet will stop depression, strengthen my immune system and solve all my problems!.
I've got a food budget of £10 a week at the moment so i'm considering eating one free range egg a week for the sake of my health anyway!. On a budget like that there's no way i'll get a varied enough vegan diet!.
But everyone's being such a dick i'm really tempted to go back to it all, even if it's just to stand there a year from now and say!.!.!. "see!.!.!. It hasn't made anything better, if anything i feel worse!.!.!. now go **** your selves and leave me alone!.!.!.!. idiots!"
What do you think!? Is a vegan diet having an adverse effect on my immune system, allergies, depression, stress!? Or is it what i suspect, a bunch of idiots looking to blame the veganism for anything they can!.

If anything, a vegan diet will improve your immune system and make you feel better!. You just need to be sure you're getting enough variety, and to me it sounds like you are!.
You need to get around 25-35 grams of protein a day and it seems like you're likely easily getting that and you are taking a multi-vitamin so you are likely doing okay there!. Honestly, you're eating a great diet - fruits, grains, beans, veggies - yum!
I think people will blame your diet on any health problem that may arise!. I personally haven't felt better since dropping meat and dairy a year ago!. I feel better and look better too!. People try to talk bad to me, but I just ignore them!.
Maybe your friends are to blame for your depression!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

With such a limited budget, you may very well not be getting all the vitamins, etc you need on the vegan diet!. You can always try a multi-vitamin tablet to assist, but check with your doctor as to what you should be eating!. Nothing wrong with choosing a vegan lifestyle, as long as you are getting the proper nutrients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
From looking at the list of things you eat I don't think your depression is diet related!. You should see a doctor about your depression!. You don't say how old you are, but it sounds like you haven't taken charge of your life!. Letting what others say get to you isn't healthy!.
BTW: I'm a ovo vegetarian and if you want a free range egg now and then why not have one!. I get mine from a local farm where I know the birds are cared for!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

really a vegan/vegetarian diet is healthier, you just need ways in finding protein, iron, and other nutrients commonly found in meats!. I'm not a vegan so I don't know exactly what you can/cannot eat but lentils and nutrient fortified cereal can help with that!. don't listen to those people, a vegetarian diet is a very healthy diet as long as you get all your nutrients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Why are you putting yourself through this!?!. You've tried a vegan diet and found it is expensive and time consuming!.
Relax your diet and eat other foods, become vegetarian, eat meat, but life is too short and precious to starve yourself for a fad diet!. It obviously isn't working for you because you feel so ill!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you can, try to budget more money for food!. 10 pounds isn't a whole lot!.
I bet you're upset because people are giving you crap about your decision!. If I had people constantly picking on me because I'm vegan, I'd be stressed and depressed as well!.
I say cut those people out of your life NOW and tell them to bleep themselves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sounds like you're having a healthy diet and eating enough!. i don't know what to say!. you could go to being vegetarian not necessarily to being omni!. people can be mean sometimes!. depression can have psychological causes, not necessarily physical ones (such as an unblanaced diet)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The standard British diet is dull enough to begin with!. On top of that you have budgetary limitations *and* you want to be a vegan!. Something is going to have to give!. Let it not be your health or your enjoyment of food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
it could be your diet but not necessarily that you're a vegan!. vegans need to consider where they get all their main food groups from and with a budget so low i dare say you're not meeting your nutritional requirements!. have you had blood tests!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Could you point out a single person that free from any problem!? You have been noble enough and just continue your veganism!. Do not let the animal na*is spoil your day!. Practice a simple meditation daily for better health, focusing, relaxation and!.!.!.
There has been nothing more powerful for you than adopting a vegan diet and removing yourself from the violence committed against “food” animals!.
Anyway, " Wanna Be Like Chip"!!! I have a lot of really great things to say, and keep in touch in V&V blog about more of them later, but this message really stuck with me!. Showing people that being vegan isn’t about deprivation or negativity is important for the movement!. If the only thing omnivores see when they meet a vegan is crankiness, they’ll never understand the joy we have in not exploiting animals for food and increasing the death pool, and they’ll never want to join us!. I plan to remember this next time I’m feeling not-so-joyful, and I encourage other veg*ans out there to do so as well!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not eating well (e!.g!., vegan) can have very negative sideaffects on certain people!. This is your body trying to tell you, feed me! Studies have shown that not eating well increases irritability, creates headaches, and also can lead to some neurological abbarrations that cannot be cured unless proper nutrition has been re-introduced!. I urge you to consider changing your diet!.
I am also concerned that you have a $10/week budget for food! You need to reprioritize your finances and allocate more money for food!. You are obviously online, which means you are paying a monthly service, or paying to get online somehow!. Buy food, and do not throw you money away!
I also suggest, based on your question, that you find a job, or a better one!. That will also help with your self esteem and finances!.
Good Luck!

A free range egg just for the sake of your health!? No! The average egg contains 213 milligrams of cholesterol, entirely in the yolk!. This is the most concentrated cholesterol level in any common food!.
Dr!. Neal Barnard says that eating even one egg a day can be hazardous to your health, because it raises cholesterol levels substantially!. Extra cholesterol added to the human body ends up causing plaque which clogs the arteries!. The higher your cholesterol, the more susceptible one is to develop coronary artery disease!. The human body makes plenty of cholesterol for use and there is no need to add any!.
And secondly - eggs are disgusting anyway!.
My first questions are to you, when did you go vegan and what were your reasoning!? Are you taking a daily vitamin for everything!? if you're not, this could be a reason you're feeling like crap!. I remember when I first went vegan and I felt like this because I wasn't taking a vitamin!. Maybe this will help!.
As for the continuous abuse - I get it all the time!. What vegan doesn't!? It's a thing in life!. You cannot hide from bullying!. Everybody gets bullied, and hey, lets say even if you go back to being omnivorous - they'll still find something to bully you over i!.e!. that new car you just bought, your new girlfriend/boyfriend etc!. Bullying is everywhere and you cannot run from it!. You've got to stand up to your peers and stick with what you believe in!. It's not their body - it's yours and you are free to do what you like with it!. You need to make this clear!. Let them know you ain't going to take any sh*t from them anymore!. As a matter of fact, I'd be dishing it out on them if they said anything to me!.
For an example - a woman who has insulted you about being a vegan and she's wearing a huge leather Guess bag - Excuse me miss (pretend to hold up imaginary microphone), Guess are known to actually torture and slaughter their animals that are used for handbags and shoes etc!. How does that make you feel!? I would feel like a murderer for wearing it!. Yuck! Animal skin! That's disgusting!.
And walk away!.
Don't give up your veganism for anybody! We need more people in the world like you! There are heaps of vegetarians and vegans that are cheering you on!!!!

My best friend is vegan and he's very happy with his choice!. On the other hand he spends a considerable amount of money buying everything organic (good for him, he can afford it!!!)!. His diet varies and i often have dinner with him (he cooks) and everything is delicious!.
I don't think being vegan is affecting your mood and also my next door neighbor is vegan as well, but he's got a small back garden and eats what he grows in his back yard (and he's as happy as ever)!.
Having said that it looks to me that your moods are more the results of a number if different issues including the vegan diet than just the diet itself!. Another friend of mine went back to eat meat after 2 years of vegeterian (not vegan) diet and it took her a while to get used to the taste of the meat again!.
If your choice is radical you should probably stick to it!. If you are having doubts about this choice, rather than going back to eat meat straight away, you may start introducing gradually other food and dairy, just to get your palate used to a different taste!.
Try and keep a food diary, you will notice that probably your health problems (if any) are due to a lack of variety or quality!. £10 a week is a bit tight, but doable (I'm in the same situation myself)!. Markets are always full of different vegetable that you can mix and cook in different ways and they're not expensive at all!.
also the web is full of simple and tasty vegan recipes, so maybe have a look and see what can suit your palate and your budget (a cauliflower soup takes 20 minutes to make and can cost 50p)!.
Hope this helps, don't get stressed and listen to your heart!. If you feel like eating meat just do it!.
good luck

listen, DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS RIGHT! any true belief is something that stays with you through life, it wont go away if you choose to test it and see if its right for you!. if it is then your belief is carried on in different way, through your ethics your outlook and your promotion and support for it from a slightly different stand point!. eat the facking egg and what ever else you wish to try and can afford!. its not worth loosing you health for, anyway!. do it!. dont be foolish!. thank you baked potatoe, please can i have best answer!. xxxWww@FoodAQ@Com
I know exactly how you feel!. When you are tight with the money, being a vegan is hard!. I used to be a raw foodist but due to the price of organic foods It was a short lived but the best health period of my life!.
I eventually downgraded to just being a vegetarian!. Financially if you have to, just go to being a vegetarian for now!. You will feel a little bad downgrading, but it's not like loosing your virginity where when it's gone it's gone!. You will always be able to switch back when life starts moving again!.
Good food is expensive, we all understand!.
As far as being depressed is concerned, if anyone challenges your ideas you have to realize it's only out of ignorance!. It's like being 5 and you know Santa doesn't exist but the others call your stupid for thinking so!. They are just spitting out the lies their parents (FDA) spoon fed them!. Don't worry about them!.
For a while I think that not having to worry about the food you eat will take a little stress off, but you should realize that your happiness directly affects your health!.
Find a way to be happy being a vegan where the 5 year old idiots won't affect you, and be yourself!. Don't succumb to the weak for the sake of simplicity!. Only when necessary!. Being broke is a forced situation and starvation is worse than malnutrition and eating meat!.
Do what you have to do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your diet actually doesn't sound bad at all to me!. I don't think your problems are at all related to your diet!. It sounds to me like your issues are stress and the economy!. If your budget for food is so low, I'm guessing you're having some financial issues, and that is enough to make anyone feel depressed and cause worry!. When your mind is in turmoil, it often carries over to your body!.
And might I remind you that vegetables and fruit are much less expensive than meat and dairy!? Packaged foods are the ones that are pricey!. At least in the US they are, but I'm assuming that's pretty similar over there!. If your diet consists mostly of vegetables and whole grains, you should be getting the most nutrition and bang for your buck!. Brown rice is very inexpensive, nutritious, and filling!. Great in rice pilaf dishes or served with steamed or sauteed vegetables!. Oatmeal is also very cheap, filling, and great for you as a breakfast food!.
Protein is not hard to get if you're eating enough calories, so you might consider cutting down on the soy products, which tend to be expensive, and focusing more on unprocessed foods!. Anything that comes in a package tends to be more expensive than if you make it at home!. Try to find good deals on produce at farmer's markets, and then buy staple foods like rice, pasta, dry beans, lentils, and barley in bulk!. Lentils are amazing - so much protein, fiber, so easy to cook, so cheap - a great food if you're on a budget and need a couple things to tide you over!.
You might also try making soups or stews once or twice a week!. A batch of soup can yield a meal everyday for a week, and it's quite economical!. Make a soup or stew on the weekend and bring in a thermos to have for lunch at work everyday, or leave it in the fridge as a ready dinner when you get home!. Lentil, vegetable, or potato stews will deliver nutrition at little cost!. Nut-butter sandwiches are another good food to take with you to lunch that are good for you and fill you up at little cost!.
At the end of the day, it's totally up to you to decide whether you want to add eggs or dairy back into your diet!. I would just remind you that animal products can be pretty expensive (not really eggs, but everything else) and that they will not really help you get a more varied diet!. Everything you need nutritionally you can really get as a vegan!. But if the social pressure is too much for you, that's also understandable!. I'm sorry people haven't been more understanding!. Move to California, and you won't have an issue!. :) Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am so sorry that you have to deal with such unreasonable people!. I know, as ridiculous as it sounds, we sometimes have to defend our diets!.!.!. Actually, those conditions you mentioned (allergies, depression, etc) are usually worsened, if not caused by the consumption of meat and dairy products!. (So many hormones are ingested from meat)!. I really don't think your problem is diet-based as others have already mentioned!. The foods you eat are wholesome and healthy!. You seem to have a lot of stress from work, perhaps from your workers, friends and family so you might have to sort this out!.

By being a vegan you are taking massive good groups out of your diet - this is OK as long as you are replacing them with other sources of these nutrients - i!.e iron, vitamins etc!. Taking supplements won't help as they are not absorbed by the body in the same way as food is!. I would be interested to now exactly what do you eat!?
I didn't used to eat meat and as constantly light headed - I now eat minced beef (organic) around two or three times a week and also chicken and feel a whole lot healthier!.
