Answers:
Because when the chicken lays the egg, they are soft(almost like rubber) and they harden up as they cool down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know how old your are, but you must be a boy since a girl would know the answer to this question!. Hens and even girls can open up so we don't crush what we are carrying, be that a baby or an egg!.

BTW: a newborn babies skull is very fragile and shell like!. Sometimes during a complicated delivery it does crack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For the same reason that you can pick one up and not have it disintegrate in your hand - they aren't THAT fragile!. Simple!.

Plus, the ovoid shape is good for dealing with spread-out pressure, it's sharp blows that pierce the shell (such as a chap from a knife)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because it is landing on a soft surface, and it isnt a far height to fall from!.

Why doesnt a baby break when it is given birth to!? Is the same sort of question!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because an egg's design is fantastic!. Try this at home - grab an egg, but it in your palm, wrap your hand around it, and try to break it by squeezing it!. You won't be able to do it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm sure it has something to do with the muscles they use and the way they push it out!.!.!.I don't think I really WANT to know the details!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think they are falling very far, and the chicken normally makes a nest to lay her eggs in!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The force and pressure is spread out over the whole surface of the eggshell!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The shell is still a little flexible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the hens are gentle with them and know how much pressure they can take!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
