Has your perception of the taste/smell of meat changed since becoming vegetarian/vegan?!

Question: Has your perception of the taste/smell of meat changed since becoming vegetarian/vegan!?
I've been vegetarian for just over a year now, and recently someone gave me food with beef in it, having forgotten I was vegetarian!. It tasted disgusting to me!. I used to love the taste of meat which was why it took me so long to give it up, so it raised some questions!. Not only does it taste bad to me, it often smells pretty bad too, especially with fast food, I don't know how I ever ate it!. Has anyone else experienced the same thing!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes, my perception has changed!.
When I first became a vegetarian, my bf at the time was an omni!. It didn't bother me to grocery shop for him and all that jazz!.
Since we've broken up, I live on my own and I never have meat near me!. It now makes me nauseous to go by it in the grocery store!.

The other day, my mother was preparing a whole chicken for dinner!. As soon as she opened the package, the room stunk to me!. I asked her if the bird was fresh and she said yes!. Apparently, I'm not used to the smell anymore!. I know it sounds strange, but it seriously smelled like death!.
She picked the poor thing up by his legs and some pink fluids dripped out of his neck hole!. I thought I was going to hurl!. It was SICK!.
Like you - I have no idea how I ever ate that stuff!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I haven't knowingly tasted meat since I because a veggie, but whenever I smell meat cooking (especially bacon), it makes me want to throw up!.

Its probably that I've made the connection from that smell to the suffering of an animal, or something, because the smell of meat makes me super nauseous not!. Because yeah, I used to love the taste/smell of meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ive been vegetarian for 2 years now but i remember after the first year i was visiting my cousins and they had just gone hunting and my parents told me i had to be respectful and eat the food!. i took and few bites and felt like throwing up!. after that i looked up a lot of information on it and found that when you become vegetarian your stomach can't process meat anymore, its actually not really supposed to in the first place and it pretty bad for digestion and stuffWww@FoodAQ@Com

For sure, I haven't fish or chicken for about 2 years and red meat for about 10 years and I wonder why I ever did!. The thought of putting muscle or flesh into my mouth is revolting!. I went to Outback with my dad and he ordered a steak!. It was sort of bloody and huge and so completely disgusting that I couldn't even look at it without thinking pain the living cow might have had to experience!. I know I'll never eat meat again, I enjoy my veggies without a slab of corpse!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its wierd, im not a vegetarian so whenever i smell bacon i come flying into the kitchen taking big whiffs, but i guess my perception of lettuce and stuff is bad, ive never made or ordered a salad in my lifeWww@FoodAQ@Com

yeah!.!.!.like I'll see whataburger commercials and want to go throw up!.!.!.I have been a vegetarian for about six months and I ate a bite of steak the other nite and it tasted horrible and made me sick!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I want to know what meat smells like, I will walk into a slaughterhouse!. Fresh, bloody death!. Nothing that reminds me of anything edible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
