Fake meat, healthy or unhealthy?!


Question: Fake meat, healthy or unhealthy!?
my dad is perfectly fine with me being a vegetarian, but he doesn't want me to be eating fake meats, like morning star farms and things like that!. he thinks that because they're processed, they're unhealthy!. how can i convince him otherwise!? thanks!

Fake meat, or mock meat, is over processed and loaded with salt!. Of course they are way better for you than real meat and offer a good amount of protein!. HOWEVER, one should not be eating mock meat everyday!.!.!.try 1-3 times a week!. I know a lot of people who eat veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs, chicken-less chicken nuggets and all that stuff every single day!. For example, for breakfast they will have Morning Star veggie sausage, then for lunch they will have fake chicken nuggets, and for dinner they'll have a veggie burger!. That is definitely not healthy! If you are a vegetarian, stick to fresh foods!. Make a vegetarian lasagna for dinner and have a fruit salad for breakfast!. Don't eat too much mock meat, it's not good for you!. Your dad is right, but maybe he'll let you eat it occasionally as a treat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Compared to their meat counterparts, the fake meats are actually healthier(as they are lower in saturated fat, cholesterol, etc)!. However, they are by no mean healthy!. Faux meats are over processed, loaded with salt, high in calories, and offer little nutrition wise!.

Your father is correct in his assumption that fake meats are not healthy!. The occasional faux meat is fine(just like the occasional real chicken nugget is fine in a meat eaters diet!.) You do not want to be living off of fake meats like some teenage vegetarian tend to do!. You need to eat a wide variety of healthy fresh foods!.

Fake meats should be consumed as a treat, something like once a week or so!. The rest of your diet should be fresh veggies, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, etc!. Fake meat is actually better because you dont have to fry it and cook it in grease and everything, it has less calories, less saturated fat, no colesterol, and less sodium!. It has more polyunsaturated fat, and Monounsaturated fat (those are fats that are good for you)!. Although it has less protien in it, but you can take vitiamins to help with that!. Compare them to normal meaty food, also look into what is in real chicken nuggets, you'd be suprised!. Beaks go into them, and other things you really don't want to eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they are healthy! i eat fake meat almost everyday becoz it has iron vitamin b12 and protein in it!. it's just becoz i find it hard to eat meat!.!.!.!.!.!.!.im not fully vegeterian coz i heard lean meats are a great source of protein! i dont like nuts at all!.!.!.!.!.!.and if i eat them then ill take 3 becoz ther so prune!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.D: your dads probably right!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.everything that was done by US human beings!.!.!.!.!.isnt that healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
