What is your opinion of Vegan cupcakes?!
I'm a vegetarian, so, it doesn't matter right now to me, but when I open my Vegan restaurant, I want to make all my cupcakes and baked goods for sale, so, obviously, they must be Vegan!.
So, Vegan cupcakes; any good!? As good as a great traditional cupcake!? Have any suggestions of how to make them!?
Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make pretty good vegan cupcakes, if I do say so myself!. I use "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World" and just made a really good Root Beer Float cupcake from "My Sweet Vegan!." Some recipes call for a flax seed slurry, while others call for Ener-G Egg replacer!. If you have recipes that call for the eggs, either works well!. I'm personally an Ener-G Egg gal; just remember to mix the powder with the water before adding to the batter!.
There's a local vegan bakery that makes pretty good cupcakes and another cupcake store that has a vegan variety!. I've only tried the latter once, but it was nice!.
For recipes that call for milk, I use the Whole Foods Unsweetened Soy Milk!. Soy milk is creamier than other plant milks, I've found, so it goes really well when baking!.
Where's your restaurant and when does it open!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

absolutely you can make vegan cupcakes as good if not better than the original recipe, they come out a bit denser though because instead of using eggs & milk, you are using a bit more veggie oil, and usually a very watery vegetable to create the liquid portion, im sure you can find recipes online, but you will notice alot of them call for grated veggies, carrots, zucchini, and bananas all work best, thats why carrot cake, zucchini & banana bread all taste greatWww@FoodAQ@Com
I tried one once and thought it was one of the most horrible tasting things I have ever put into my mouth - I do not think that they are anywhere near as good as a traditional cupcake but then everybody is different and I know that there are people out there who like/love vegan baked goods!. Good luck with your restaurant!.

i love them! as for how to make them, they have a boxed egg alternative that sells in supermarkets, although i cant quite remember the name; however, i would look into itWww@FoodAQ@Com
I think they might turn out to be a little on the gross side!. I'm lacto-ovo vegan, so I still eat eggs and dairy products!. I just don't eat any meat!.
Good luck with your Vegan restaurant!. :]
