I'm becoming a vegan or vegetarian. Help, please?!

Question: I'm becoming a vegan or vegetarian!. Help, please!?
I've never eaten much meat before, but I decided recently (about the middle of August this year) to stop eating meat and fish (since apparently that technically isn't meat!?)!. I still drink milk and eat cheese!. I wish to stop wearing and using animal products, so I have a few questions!.

1!. What are animal products to avoid!? Clothing wise, the only thing I'm aware of is leather, which I'm pretty sure is made of animal hide, right!? What else is there!?

2!. What foods should I eat to have a healthy, balanced diet!? (Now would be the first time in my life I've ever actually had a balanced diet)

3!. What are the differences between a vegan and a vegetarian!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Leather, wool, fur, shearling, merino, and angora are all obtained from animal sources!.

Many vegans avoid honey, beeswax, and silk!. How much do you care about insects!? Only you can answer that!.

You may wish to look for raw or turbinado sugar instead of refined sugar, because some refined sugars use animal bones in the refining process!.

You need legumes, soy and nuts for protein, as well as whole grains!. You need a variety of different protein sources each day to get all the different amino acids, as most vegetable foods only have some!.

You will need a sublingual vegetarian B12 supplement!. You can also get some B12 from nutritional yeast!.

You need soy, almonds, sesame, broccoli and dark leafy greens for calcium!.

If you eat a variety of plant foods you will get the rest of the nutrients you need, no problem!.

The difference between a vegetarian and a vegan are that one only abstains from meat and the other abstains from all animal products!.

3!.

a vegan eats nor uses anything from an animal!. that means not eating honey, milk, eggs, meat, lard, gelatin ETC!. ect!.
they also try not to use things that are tested on animals!. a vegetarian basically just doesn't eat meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians won't consume anything that is the result of an animal ending its life!. So things like meat and leather and gelatin (made from hooves) would be out since the animal needs to die for us to get those things!. But things like milk, eggs, cheese, honey etc!. are things that animals make naturally, and vegetarians usually still consume these things - vegans don't consume any animal products, period!. I'm a vegetarian but I still consume dairy and eggs; however, I buy locally from a farmer who I know treats his animals well and doesn't stress or abuse them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ive been a vegan my whole life and have never even thought about eating meat and dairy!.

the best balanced diet you can eat is just raw fruits and vegetables, as they have all your vitamns and minerals that your body needs!. me and my dad often go on a raw food fast where we only eat raw fruits and vegetables!. and after we feel like the healthiest people on the Earth!.

Not eating meat protein shrinks your brain!.
Lay off this stupid fad!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am all for animal rights but I am not against leather!. The reason being that leather from animals is rarely the reason they are killed!. If you're looking at exotic leathers then yes, avoid them!. But normal leather is gotten from animals that are slaughtered for other reasons!. They will be killed whether there is a market for leather or not and if there is no marked for leather then their hides will simply be incinerated and that much of the animal will have been wasted for no reason!.

There are three general types of vegetarian!. Vegan will eat no meat and no animal byproducts!. Nothing that came from an animal such as milk, eggs and the fats and proteins that are found in many foods!.

Standard vegetarians (also known as lactose / ovos) will drink milk, eat eggs and beans (which generally contain ammounts animal fats)

The third type are those who eat chicken and fish (I believe it was Jay Leno who called these "beady eyed vegetarians) but no red meats and no meats from larger animals (like pigs)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey! Just eat loads of veggies and fruit and make sure you're getting lots of protein too!. If you're really concerned about a healthy diet as a vegetarian, look it up on the internet or see a dietician!. A friend of mine has lost too much weight (in my opinion) since becoming a vegetarian!. This is because her diet isn't healthy!. Her skin is also a lot less healthy!.
The difference between vegan and vegetarian is: vegetarians are people who simply don't eat meat!. A vegan is someone who doesn't eat meat or products that come from animals (dairy, etc!.) and also doesn't use products that come from animals (leather, fur etc!.)!. If I were you, and choosing which to become, I would choose vegetarian because often dairy is important to maintain a healthy, balanced diet!.!.!.and you can't eat dairy as a vegan!. Hope this helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

1!. Don't use leather, suede, fur, skins, feathers, down!. Any fabric where an animal has lost it's life is a no-no!. Then it's entirely up to you if you want to avoid animal fibres where the animal is not killed!. Wool, angora, mohair and silk!. We can try to use polypropelenes and synthetic fibres such as polar fleece!.

2!. calcium is in sesame seeds, you can make sesame milk, calcium is also in tofu and brocolli!. Protein is in Tofu and nuts!. If you want to include eggs and milk - that's your choice!. Fruits and vegetables are great!.

3!.A vegan uses no animal products at all , and doesn't eat honey as it exploits a bee's work!. No milk, no cheese, no yoghurt, no icecream, no cream, no eggs, no leather, and so on!.
A vegetarian is less strict!. There are many types of vegetarians, lacto ovo has milk and eggs, semi vege only eliminates red meat but still has fish and chicken!.
