No, they do not increase the bad cholesterol!. They can be used for just about anything in most types of cooking!.

One of the "classic" uses for them is in almond milk!. Basically, puree almonds with water and strain it for several hours through a cheesecloth!. Back before refrigeration, it was common to use pure almond milk in recipes since it is shelf stable!. Therefore, a lot of Medieval recipes used almond milk when animal milk was scarce!.

Almond butter is another product that can be used in various recipes and is derived in much the same way normal butter is!. Churn some pure almond milk for extremely long periods of time and let the moisture content drop in the process!.

Thy tend to be high in calories but at the same time are high in other nutrients such as calcium!. In most vegan diets, however, calories aren't as much of a bad thing as they are in others!.

Almonds are everywhere here where I live!. They grow wild and you can help yourself!. They are very nutritious, but if you eat too many they will increase your calorie intake!. They make marzipan from almonds, Almendras schapps, bakewell tarts and macaroons!. The liqueur Amaretto come from Almonds!. You can eat them sugared or you can eat them salted!.
