What are your thoughts on pescatarians?!

Well I personally am a vegetarian, but I have a friend who is a pescatarian and I have no problems with it/respect it!. I know that it can be classed as a cop out vegetarian by alot of people (they eat fish but no other meat), but her reasons for being it are that she is against the treatment of mass farmed pigs chickens etc where they are treated as products not animals!.!.!.so fish that are caught from the ocean don't really apply to her protest because they lived naturally before death!.
I don't see anything wrong with it, I personally would never eat fish but I think everyone should have the right to decide what they will and won't eat without being berated and belittled or called a hypocrite because they made their own decisions!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

In my opinion, if you eat any form of meat, seafood included, you are not a vegetarian!. There are some people who believe that fish is an acceptable part of a vegetarian diet!. I find that eating fish is a contradiction to what it means to be a vegetarian!. Fish have a nervous system with a brain and a spinal chord!. They can feel pain!. The same goes for a variety of other sea life!. Why should they be an "exception" to a vegetarian diet!? It makes no sense to me!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Pescetarians aren't any type of vegetarians!. It can be a healthy lifestyle, but it can be potentially dangerous if you eat high amounts of "sea food" because of the mercury content!.!.!. Fish that are especially oily (ie salmon, tuna) have been found to be the most contaminated!. I would be careful!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They are not vegetarians, so it's absurd when they claim they do it for moral or ethical reasons!.
However, they do not bother me!. I gave up meat because of health problems, not because of ethical reasons,and I have been feeling great!. I salute anybody for taking a healthy approach and for actually caring what and how they eat, regardless of their chosen diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegan, but I love pescetarians! For some people it's really hard to fully go veg, and I respect that!. But I love pescetarians because I know they are trying their hardest and I think that's awsome :) However one thing that does bother me is when people confuse them with vegetarians, because vegetarians eat absolutely no meat!. But I still find pescetarians wicked cool :DWww@FoodAQ@Com
I feel the same about them as I do about "semi-vegetarians" and "flexitarians"!. I don't think they deserve to call themselves real vegetarians!. It's really quite simple!. If you eat meat, you aren't vegetarian!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
I try to be a vegetarian, but lately my dad has been cramming fish down my throat like there is no tomorrow, even though I take in enough protein!. I don't really think our lifestyle is much different that anyone else though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well, they are a step above vegetarians and vegans, but if your gonna eat fish, why not have it all, they aren't helping anything considering that fish are usually killed in much more painful ways than any land animals!.

well!.!.!. i have no problem with them really!. Fish is nice and its good for you!. Most fish live free lives in the wild and they arent farmed (maybe not freshwater fish), so i guess i can see why they would want to eat only fish!.
