Vegans: can you tell me what is in a vegan donut that is different from a non-vegan donut?!

Question: Vegans: can you tell me what is in a vegan donut that is different from a non-vegan donut!?
Say in a regular glazed donut!. Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Not sure exactly but it contains probably some milk, or at least milk ingredients, whey!. and most definitely a type of butter (lard/milk/eggs)
whereas a vegan donut would not contain any animal productWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not a vegan, so I can't say for sure, but it probably contains a butter substitute instead of real butter because that comes from a cow!. Any ingredients derived from animals are probably replaced with something else!. Donuts don't really contain animal products though so the difference is negligible!. I bought some chocolate chips the other day labeled "vegan"!. It doesn't mean there's anything different about them!. They were just on sale!. If something labeled vegan makes the product more appealing to you, then go for it, but there isn't necessarily any difference!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You not only have to look at the list of ingredients that is in the donut, but how it is prepared!. Most donuts are deep friend before baking and many of them are deep fried in an oil blend that may contain animal fats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's not so much about what is in it, as what's NOT in it!. No animal products (including honey, dairy, eggs, etc), and the company that makes it has to be cruelty free as well!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's not just the eggs and milk that could be in it but also the sugar as well for the glaze specifically, not to mention chemicals to keep them fresh (shelf donuts)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO eggs or milkWww@FoodAQ@Com
