Iron is abundant in many plant foods but it is not as easily assimilated into your body as iron from animal sources!. In other words your body cannot use all the iron it gets from plants!. That said plant foods that are high in iron include green leafy vegetables (including spinach, parsley and swiss chard) as well as bakes beans, soy beans, kidney beans, almonds, whole grain oats, whole grain wheat, walnuts, sesame seeds, lentils, pecans and prune juice!. You probably already know these foods are extremely good for you and should be eaten daily!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't sweat it!. All you need to remember when you are ever asked things like "where do you get your iron/calcium/whatever mineral frommmmm!?" is that these minerals, all minerals are in the ground!
Soooo, all you have to do is eat something that grows out of the ground!. Even grass has all the minerals, just ask the beast that most people worship!.!.the cow!.
I know people will say!.!."yeah but!.!.soils are deficient of minerals",
so if soils are deficient, then where do cows get the mineral,do they magically make it in their bodies!. If so then why can't we!?
Answer is to eat a majority of your diet raw fruit and veg!. This way you'll get all the minerals!.!.!.including iron!. By the way, iron cannot be absorbed in your body without vitamin C!. The only place you'll get vitamin C is in fruit and veg!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

spinach and broccoli are my two favorite sources of iron!. yum!. =]
also, if all else fails, most multi-vitamins have at least 50% of your daily reccomended dose of iron in them - and you can also get prescription iron supplements, too, if you can't seem to include iron-rich foods in your diet!.

Iron is found in countless plant foods!. If you want to eat oysters, eat oysters but don't claim that vegetarians need to spend all day eating in order to get enough iron or anything else!.
