I just bought an avocado for my baby and I opened it and it is brown with black dots, is it rotten!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it's for your baby, then don't chance it!.

You may still be able to eat it because sometimes when you scrape the brown top layer off, it will be green underneath!.
However, it really won't taste its best, so better to bin it or take it back to the shop for a refund and buy another!.
You can keep the stone and try to grow them at home in the garden!.
I never buy soft ripe avocados because every time I do, they are always brown inside!. I buy them when they are green and hard and then I ripen them myself over the week!. They are always green and fresh when I cut them open this way!.
Certified organic avocados taste absolutely gorgeous, so much better than those tasteless bitter things you get in the supermarket!.

A good, ripe avocado will have nearly black skin, and the flesh should be just firmer than room temperature butter, green, and without spots or striations!. If the flesh is brown or is spotted or striped with black areas, it is beyond ripe and your best bet would be to throw it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
