Ignore that Shaif person's answer!. I've been reading the veg!. section and he has a bone to pick with vegetarians for some reason and just disses everyone!. Don't let the haters affect you!.
I chose to become veg!. 10 years ago because I suffered from chronic stomach pain my whole life!. I went through the ringer with tests and the doctors told me I didn't have the proper enzymes in my stomach to digest meat!. So when it hit my colon, my colon would spasm and cause me severe pain!. Yes, you can get sick from eating meat, and choosing to cut meat out of your diet will help your digestive system work more efficiently!. First, I cut out beef, then pork, then chicken and then fish!. Start slowly, and make sure to properly incorporate non-meat sources of protein!. Combining a rice and a legume gives you a complex protein that is the equivalent of eating meat!. So eat rice and beans, lentils and rice, couscous and beans!. Eat dark leafy green (spinach, kale) to get iron in your diet!. You may want to take a B12 supplement!. Good luck and congrats for making a healthy lifestyle choice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It takes awhile to figure out what to eat when you go out to restaurants but start with salads!. Dont forget that most things you can get without meat!. Make sure that you get your protein in other ways and start experimenting with different foods at home!. It is hard at first and I ate quesadillas for awhile until I figured out how to expand to other foods!. Veggie burgers are really good!. I cook them and make yummy sandwhiches with them!. its all in your head, it's what is known as a conditioned response in psychology, you got sick once after you ate meat so now you expect that to happen everytime, since your mind is stronger than the body, even you just thinking that can actually make you sick
my advice would be to take a break from meat and come back once you have unlearned the response, or have a family member cook you some meat, but don't tell them when to do it, and tell them to disguise it as something else so you don't know, i guarantee if you don't know what you are eating it will taste good!.
goodluck
edit - @ nameste, nope, actually this has nothing to do with my liking or not liking vegetarians, google "conditioned response"
obviously you never went to college as you would have learned this term when you took pysch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
