Where can i get vegan meat (substitutes??)?!

You can get 'vegan meat' from most supermarkets!. There are lots of different products!. If you want something that is not the run of the mill fake chicken, beef mince etc you can get some interesting substitutes from an oriental supermarket/grocery - such as imitation shrimp and imitation fish fillets (and imitation duck, chicken etc)!. They are usually made from gluten, and are shaped to look realistic!. They also taste really good - but not necessarily exactly like the real thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most Chinese supermarkets do stock vegan meats!. Most of these products are from Taiwan and with some item with its tastes as good as real meats!. There are imitation ham, pork, chicken and fish and even vegan kidneys which you can cook it the way you like!.

I would recommend the vegetarian prawns, the type which is actually vegetables and bind with bean curd skin!. Just deep fried it till brown and you can eat it as a snack or serve as cocktail bites for your friend!.

Forgive me for saying it, but when vegetarians or vegans try to make something look, taste and feel like meat, what they want is meat!. They're kidding themselves!. Give her meat instead, if that's what she wants!.

Depending on where you live, but in Australia you can get vegan burgers, schnitzels, vegan cheese etc from Coles!. They are all made from soy!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
