Please, please, help -- going veg?!

Question: Please, please, help -- going veg!?
my question is on going vegetarian (duh)

as many PETA videos as i watch, all the pamphlets i read, hearing those poor animals' cries - i still can't give up animals!.

i can never finish an anti-animal cruelty video without sobbing all over the keyboard, and i'm crying as i'm typing this!. it makes me feel horrible knowing that i am the reason (one of them) for the suffering of countless animals daily, my eating meat only contributes to their endless misery!. but, i'll get off the computer and go and eat my hamburger, or get ready to go out in my patent leather Nike's or suede boots!.

i need help going veg, i've tried it once, and it lasted an extremely short two weeks!. it's not that i'm uneducated on this lifestyle; i'm not!. i know the proper diet, and the steps to take in order to stay healthy!. i know it's not because 'it's not for me', because i just don't believe in that!.

help, please!. if you're here to bash me, please just go somewhere else!. i'm looking for serious answers!. thanks (:

Ow I now it's hard but look you can started by transform dishes that you already know and enjoy!. For example, omit meatballs from your favorite spaghetti recipe, or replace with a vegetarian substitute, such as GimmeLean!. Chances are, much of what you already eat could easily be made vegetarian!. try to search up some vegetarain dishes on the internet as well =]!.

Explore new foods! One of my favorite things to do is to try one new product every time I go to the grocery store!. As a result, I eat a much more varied diet as a vegan than I ever did before!. Although most large grocery stores stock soy milk and veggie burgers, try browsing in your local health food stores to see what new foods you can find!. like soy cheese, meat substitute

Try it twice!. If you hated a particular food the first time, such as veggie burgers, try it again later, using a different product brand or prepared differently or with different seasonings and spices!. Not all products are the same, and you may prefer one product or style of preparation!. For example, if you microwaved your veggie burger the first time, try grilling it next time!.

Browse health food stores!. There's always something new to try, and the staff can help you find what you're looking for or give advice on which products are best!.

Give yourself a break! Don’t throw in the towel if you can’t resist that burger!. Just take a breath and resolve to do better at the next meal!. Another idea is to allow yourself one day a week to eat meat!. If you’re finding it difficult to stick to a vegetarian diet, you’re much more likely to pass something up, knowing you can indulge on Saturday or Sunday!.

Be patient! You may find it easy to go vegetarian on vegan overnight, while others struggle just omitting red meat!. Everyone really is different, but rest assured that with time, your cravings will subside!. Remembering your goals and reasons for going vegetarian or vegan will help you when you are tempted to give in!.

Learn, read and talk!. Learn and read as much as possible about vegetarian health and foods!. Knowledge is power! If you know any other vegetarians or vegans, ask them for their tips or advice!. Everyone will have something different to share, but most people are more than willing to provide a bit of advice and will likely be flattered that you asked!.

Browse your local bookstore for a great vegetarian cookbook!. Look for one that not only appeals to you, but has a variety of recipes that are simple enough for everyday use!.

If you’re the only one in your family transitioning to a vegetarian diet, you don’t have to cook two separate meals! Simply cook the meat for dishes like stir-fries and pasta dishes in a separate pan and add to a separated portion just before serving!.

Try new restaurants!. Seek out Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern and Thai restaurants and taste the many dishes and foods they have to offer!.

Be sure to replace meat with healthy foods and eat a balanced diet!. If you are eating nothing but French fries and chips, your health will suffer, and you will want to resort to your former eating habits!. Eat a variety of whole grains, vegetables and proteins, such as tofu, beans, or veggie burgers to stay full and healthy!.

I'm not a Vegetarian and i probably could never be a Vegetarian, i know when i am eating meat i CANNOT think about what i am eating because then i cant eat it because i feel absolutely horrible, so maybe when you are craving that hamburger or steak you should think about the animal, just think about the way it makes you feel and how the animal you would be eating had to die, that always stops me from taking that bite!. I'm sorry if i didn't help i tried Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have the exact same problem!. I have tried to become vegetarian, but it really is hard!. I unfortunately cannot help you, since I have the exact same problem, but just know your not alone!.

well, you can think about it this way: you not eating animals is not going to stop people from killing them!. so, since it is already dead, it would be an insult to the animal not to eat it because then it died for NOTHING!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you know all of the facts, words on a computer screen can't make you care more or give you willpower!.

If you can't give up meat, become a hunter/conservationist!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ok!. First off, you need support!. If you don't have anyone IRL you can go to for support, I highly recommend joining a vegetarian forum!. Veggieboards!.com is my favorite!.

Goveg!.com has a wicked awesome vegetarian starter kit!. It's free, and you should order it: http://www!.goveg!.com/order!.asp

DON'T just jump into it!. It's incredibly hard!.

There are many ways to transition:
Pick one day out of the week, and eat vegetarian that day!. Change it to 2 days, then 3, then 4 until you're full veggie!.

Eat one meal veggie, then 2, then 3!. Then cut out non veg snacks

Give yourself a deadline, and after that date don't eat meat!. I used this method!. It gave me time to prepare!.

also, go to your local healthfood store and stock up on fake meats, vitamins, and anything else vegetarian!.

Good luck!. If you need more help, feel free to send me an email!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

whats your problem
