anything that does not contain animal derived products is ok!. Some stay away from foods that are processed with animal bone char etc!. (some refined sugar)
Eat alot of vegetables, fruits, soy, legumes, nuts, grains, oils (flax seed)!.
I take supplements and flax seed oil after going to a nutritionist!.
It's not easy to list all, but really;
dairy, fish, poultry, meat!.!.!. are all no-no
gelatine, casein, and many small 'additives' are also not consumed!.

Not eating too much junk food like chips and vegan chocolate also helps :D
Depending on the situation and some factors such as house location, finance, and family issues, some vegans find it hard to get enough omega 3 (found in flax seed oil), calcium, and vitamin D!. Though alot of these can be found in fortified foods such as calcium in soy milk, and omega 3 in some soy cheeses!. Some vegans find it easier to keep a balanced intake of such vitamins, minerals therefore they don't take supplements!.

It is a commitment, and though it might be tough sometimes, we just have to keep on going!.

hope you find your answer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well vegans eat anything that doesn't come from an animal, thats no meat and no dairy!. and yes we have to watch out for ingredients such as gelatin which is found in marshmellows and most gummi lollies!.

but the vegan diet is incredibally healthy if the person consumes a lot of raw fruit and vegetables, as this will have all the vitamins and minerals they need, and yes fruit and vegetables do have protein, calcium and iron in them!.

and you don't need to take any vitamins or supplements!.

i've been a vegan my whole life and i don't take any vitamins or supplements, and i have never been to the doctors as i never get sick!.
