What clothes materials are/aren't vegan?!

Question: What clothes materials are/aren't vegan!?
I've been vegan for about a month, slowly going full vegan but i'm still living at home (i'm 17) so i'm just going vegan as much as possible, so far my food and shampoo/conditioner are vegan!.

I know silk, alpaca, wool, cashmere are not vegan!. What others should i look out for!?

i know 100% cotton is vegan (what if it doen't say 100%, only cotton, is it still vegan!?) i think i read somewhere polyester is vegan!. What other common materials are vegan!?

also do vegans shop online or go to specific shops or do they go to their previous shops but just read the labels!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA has an excellent shopping guide for clothing:

Popular vegan fabrics: cotton, polyester, denim, hemp, and vinyl, linen, anything synthetic (like rayon, and polyester!.)

Unvegan fabrics: leather, suede, wool, silk, fur, angora, cashmere, mohair!.

I shop online!. Here are some popular sites that sell vegan clothes:

I'm not totally vegan!. I still drink milk for Vitamin B12, but I won't eat/use anything that an animal had to die for!.

Congrats on becoming vegan! The animals thank you! :)

Here is a site about elastane:

They say it can be made of natural and man-made fibers!. So some would be vegan, some could not be!.

No angora, shearling, quiviut, sea silk, leather or suede!. Some vegans will use tusseh noil, otherwise known as peace silk, because the cocoons it is made of are gathered from the wild after the moths have left them behind and have no use for them anymore!.

Cotton is non-animal in origin, as are linen, polyester (it's synthetic), rayon, hemp, beta cloth, nylon, microfiber, spandex, Ultrasuede, and any blend of these!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

just read labels

also some velvet is made from silk!.
and duh, leather and suede but i think you knew that! :)

for the commenter:
vegans do not use wool b/c the sheep farms do not treat these sheep humanely but instead treat them like objects and money makers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why do vegans not use wool!?

sheep are not hurt in the shearing process!.
it's not exploitation so much as it is using the resources available to you!.
If they weren't sheared their coats would shed and be used for nothing!.
at least by using the wool you can help people stay warmWww@FoodAQ@Com

Leather, I'm pretty sure, isn't vegan!. Watch out for that stuff!.

That and fur!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
