Question: How do you stop cravings for non vegan products!?
I've starting eating vegan for the past week!.(for health reasons) Any suggestions to keep the cravings down!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most people who are new to veganism don't get enough protein, and this is something that your body craves!. You need to figure out ways to eat more beans and legumes, a good way is to find recipes that let you add lots of beans in a tasty way!.

Some ideas:

Try making tasty veggie chili:
*three cans of different beans (black, kidney, white navy)
1 can each of tomato sauce and chopped tomatoes
I can sweet corn
1 cup (each) chopped onion, carrots, celery
2 large spoons both of chili powder and cumin
salt/pepper

Saute veggies in olive oil, add tomatoes and spice, when it starts to bubble add the corn and beans, season to taste!. Let simmer 30 minutes until beans are tender!. Note that if you replace the chilli spices with italian spices, and replace the corn with another chopped veggie like spinach or zuccini, this recipe becomes a vegan spagetti sauce!.

Veggie bean/legume burgers

Combine 2 cups any combination of processed cooked lentils/barley/beans/quionoa etc, add 2 slices cubed vegan bread soaked in a little soya milk, 1 chopped green onion, mustard (dijon), salt/pepper, and mush together with hands and form into pattie, fry lightly in olive oil!. Serve with a burger bun and fixings or have as side dish!.

Tofu smoothie

Combine 1 cup soya milk with one package flavoured dessert tofu, blend in two cups of your favourite frozen fruits, add a little orange juice for flavor and to thin!.

There is no easy way!.Sorry :)

Our body is technically on a withdrawal, we are/were addicted to these food, unknowingly!.

You have to eat clean for at least 2 weeks -like detox- and then you will not crave it and find joy in vegan food as well!.
You just have to have discipline!. It's a good test for you, too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Figure out what it is that your body craving!. You might think you want ice cream, but your body just wants something fat (or cold, or sweet!.)

So you could have an avocado to replace the fat, some fruit to replace the sugar, or a popsicle to replace the cold treat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

find something else that you love!.
soy chocolate!?

You can always bake things!. buy a vegan cookbook, and some things and start baking!
that always makes me happy and i don't crave things that much!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
