There are three parts to a grain: Outer shell is Bran high in fiber and B vitamins!. Underneath bran is endosperm!. Endosperm is basically all starch!. It has very little nutrients!. It is also absorbed in your body as simple carbohydrate!. Normally, The breads and pastry are made from endosperm
The inner most part is called Germ!. Germ has good fats!. Germ is discarded to make flour so that the flour does not go rancid!.

they contain more b-vitamins, fiber and minerals like magnesium than white rice!. they release their energy more slowly too so that you dont get the blood sugar spiking effect of white carbs!. this increases the risk of diabetes because the pancreas has to work hard to control it!. it also causes mood changes and stuff!. wholegrains have all parts of the grain two parts of which are removed during refinement!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
