How much are you concerned about animal rights?!

Question: How much are you concerned about animal rights!?
On a scale of 1-10, are much do animal rights concern you!?
What are your beliefs as far as this!?

Personally, my family eats meat, because animals eat each other in nature!. Its natural!.
But animals don't wear each other's fur, so I'm firmly against wearing animal fur/skin of ANY kind!. I'm also opposed to animal testing!.
My family also owns quite a bit of pets, including cats, and we are against declawing our cats as they need them as a form of self defense not to mention it is painful for the cats to delaw them!.

I've heard some people go as far as to say that owning pets is slavery!. Some people don't care at all (take Sarah Palin for example >!.>)

Where do you stand!? How much do animals right concern you!? How much would you be willing to fight for them!? Share your thoughts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
i think eating meat is fine i think that as long as the animals was killed for natual reasons it is ok if you wear it but i don't think just to kill it to wear it is ok pets are fine i don't know how it could be slavery shoot a hamster or something would probably survive in a home then out in the wild i am not sure about the declawing or anything Www@FoodAQ@Com

8 or 9!. I'd love to be a 10, but I don't always check my makeup for cruelty free, and sometimes gelatin and stuff slips by me!. Slaughterhouses are not natural, and humans have the ability to tell right from wrong!. Killing is wrong!. I don't eat meat!. I have 2 cats and a dog, but they have great lives!. i don't think it's slavery!. I do more for my youngest cat than she's ever done for me!. I'm practically her slave!. I feed her when she meows, let her out when she meows, let her in my room when she meows, let her sit on my lap even if I don't want it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't like animals being starved,abused,
But then i don't like the animal lover's complaining about sheep getting mulsing done to them, you should see a sheep fly blown all the maggot's crawling around in the meat, but then i am not to impressed about rodeo's but this is just my opinion
I wear ugg boot'sWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a 9!. While I am a passionate vegan, I think I could only call myself a 10 if I avoided animal products at all costs (meaning I'd basically have to exit society, grow my own produce, not take most medicines, etc!.)!. Whenever there's a cruelty-free alternative, I take it!. And my family DOES have animal companions, which I don't believe is exploitation!.

First off, your reason to eat meat is stupid!.

I think I'm at a 10, but I dont like the whole animal rights crowd!. When I realised most of them eat meat, I can't stop seeing them as a bunch of hypocrites!. Even the vego's apart of that group, shoving opinions down peoples throats isn't a great way of gaining good attention!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

i guess i'm the worst!.the main reasons i became a lacto-vegetarian is not for animals rights!.i gotta said 3!.i don't own animal produce clothes but i use products like head and shoulder and johnson&johnson!.i still think i'm the worst!.and i just become a vegetarian 2weeks ago!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I probably would have to say 10!. I am a vegan and love animals so much!. But the sad thing is that animals don't really have any rights, according to the United States of America's constitution!. According to it a pig is no different to a piggy bank!. :(Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't allow myself the luxury of 10 out of 10 because I'm sure I make mistakes and don't do enough for animals and their rights, but as a vegetarian who never knowingly uses or abuses animals for my own gain I'd award myself 8 out of 10Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm sorry but for me it is close to 3!.5!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

10!.!.!.because i hate to see animals suffer, i had a dog and it made me really sad if she was in pain in anyway!.!.!.but im not over the top!.!.!.

i do relaise animals suffer all the time, in the wild, and thats neccisary for life, as we speak, a thousand zeberas are probably being eaten alive by lions, and a million insicts are probably being stepped on and eaten by bigger insicts!.!.!.

so although i HATE to see animals in unecisary pain, i just cant understand why people are vegetarians, when its just nature to eat animals!.!.!.

but i agree i hate to see animals suffer for fashion, and that trigger happy hill billy sarah palin who shots animals for fun, makes me sick!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a 10/10 for concern about animals,as being a vegetarian I would never eat anything which had a face, also never use anything tested on animals, nor buy anything made by any firm who uses animals for testing in any way, never wear fur or leather, never ignore a suffering animal!.I've battled for animal rights (peacefully) and better welfare for them all my life from being 18 years old!. I've helped achieve hunting with dogs banned and the Pet Welfare bill, just by the power of the pen!. Aggression and vandalism does no good at all and gets all animal rights people a bad name!
But because animals have already suffered and died for them,I'd take a drug which was invented in the past before there was alternative methods of testing them, to save my life,so that I could go on fighting for animal rights,me being dead would be no help to them at all!.
I think we have a duty now to our pets, they were taken from their natural environment long ago and made to depend on us, they are not our slaves and should be treated with love and respect because they didn't ask us to domesticate them, they had no choice!.
I could never ever be civil to anyone who worked in a lab in any capacity, there are other ways of earning a living!. There are charities who never ever use animals, such as Dr Hadwen Trust, struggling to do their research because of lack of funds, they do wonderful work but have to rely on fund raising and donations to do this!.Yet our taxes are poured into labs, full of scientists doing the same experiments, torturing millions of animals, just so that they can be first with something new and become rich and famous!.This is not nescesary now there are alternative methods, but animals come cheaply and plentiful of course, especially rodents who can't help being born rodents!.They still feel fear and pain as we do!.
I agree , declawing a cat is very cruel and anyone who is more worried about their furniture being scratched, than the cat's right to have claws, should not have a cat!.
I think anyone wanting to own a pet of any sort, should first have to pass a competence test to prove they know how to look after them properly!.
also, when its said animals are for us to eat, what would they do otherwise !.!.!.well they wouldn't be born at all, just to be slaughtered!.
They are my thoughts anyway!.

I'd say i'm a 5 or 6!.

I eat meat, i don't think there's anything wrong with it!.

I have my dog and i love him very much, i don't think i could ever form such a bond with a cow or chicken, nor do i think they would ever care to form one with me like my dog would!.

I like the animals to be treated humanely if possible, but i don't get all crazy about it!. I think there are MUCH MUCH worse things going on in this world then some farmers getting off on beating their animals, things like AIDS, poverty, the economic crisis we are in right now, etc!. I think we need to help people before we help animals!.

I am completely FOR animal testing, if you are against it you should really do a google search of "diseases cured by animal testing", and you will realize how many MILLIONS of lives animal testing has saved!. If you are against it then just ask yourself if you ever got diabetes if you would take insulin(a drug derived from animal testing), yes you would, because you would not want to die!. But if we had never tested on animals we would never have made insulin, would never have cured hundreds of other diseases!. It is a necessary evil!.

I am not willing to fight for animal rights at all, one of the biggest reasons is PETA, they annoy the hell out of me, even to the point where i want to do the exact opposite of what their message is because they are such a twisted corporation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

11 out of 10!. I love animals and would NEVER eat meat, eggs!. I also don't wear leather, fur, suede, or anything else made out of animals!.

I'm also very careful when I buy makeup an other products!. I try to buy only organic ones that haven't been tested on animals and don't have any animal derived substances in them!.

No, I don't think having a dog is slavery!. Dogs have been pets since the beginning of time!. Perhaps it wasn't "natural" at the beginning, but over time, dogs have become domesticated and no longer have the natural instincts to survive on their own!.

I think having pets is okay (Dogs, and cats) but no "exotic" animals like monkeys, tigers (there really are people who own tigers!), etc!. Animals like that are wild and not meant to be kept as pets!. They are not domesticated and won't be happy being contained to a house!.

Farm animals are okay to have if you have a farm with enough space for them to roam free!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a 9!.

I love animals!. They are not here for us to eat!. I'm a very strict vegetarian!. I'm also against wearing fur, leather, wool etc!. and also against animal testing but unfortunately I work as a lab assistant where they do research and test on mice!. It makes me want to cry everytime I see a cage!.

They also test on dogs, cats, larger rodents etc!. in the basement of the med school building and whenever I walk by there I try not to look at the animals!. A co-worker walked me in there once and you can just imagine what it was like; they whimper, they cry, they look at you with those sad eyes!.!.!. I couldn't handle it; I started crying so hard he had to almost carry me out!.

I'm a 9 because no matter how hard I try I just don't have the guts to go and open those cages and get them out of their misery!.!.!.

I am about a 1!.!.I eat meat, I own a mink coat, and my secret pleasure is KFC!.!.however, every pet I own 2 dogs, 2 birds, a goldfish, and a beta are given excellent care and will be taken care of until the day they die!. I think fighting animals for sport is cruel however, I think that until child abuse is eradicated from this world we should put more effort into ending child abuse!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
