A question for vegetarians.?!
im 13 years old, and this summer i decided to become a vegetarian!. i haven not had alot of energy, and i have been getting sick alot, because i have a weak immune system, and i do not think this lifestyle is helping me!. i currently weigh 150 pounds!.

Your weight sounds high for someone you're age, but if you have a very large frame and a lot of muscle there's the chance you're not fat!. You have a girl as your avatar, so I'm assume you're a girl!.
You may not necessarily lose weight by stopping eating meat because even though meat is generally high in fat it is also high in protein!. Both make a person feel full and stay full longer!. Protein is, of course, something that's really important!. (I've lived vegetarian and "bordering-on-it" for decades, and you can get protein from other sources - but you have to pay attention!.)
If you stop eating meat there's the chance you'll start being more hungry and start heading for more breads and other carbs because you're hungry!. You could have a modified diet by making sure you get some cheese, eggs, and yogurt!. That might help keep you from craving something that will make you feel full and ok!.
I knew a super-skinny young woman who ate nothing but fast food meat (chicken strips, Chinese food spare ribs, etc!.) and she stayed slim!. As far as her heart went it wasn't healthy, but she didn't gain weight because carbohydrates are generally the thing that make people gain weight the easiest (particularly young women)!.
At your age you shouldn't be doing any extreme diets!. You really ought to stay with a normal, healthy, diet in the right portions!. (The diet given to diabetics is generally one that everyone should follow and generally one that leads people to lose weight!.) For one you are 13 so fat isn't an issue!. Your body is still growing and will proportion out most likely, if you are not eating a bunch of junk food!.

Maybe you are not getting enough iron, which you need to make red blood cells to carry oxygen in your blood!. When you don't eat meat and are a young woman you run the risk of becoming anemic!.

First, go to your doctor and ask them!. Second, it would REALLY mess up your system if you became a vegan!. If you started this overnight, that sudden change could be causing this!. If u should become a vegetarian again, if you wan to start over, then ease yourself into it, instead of changing your diet so quickly!. it really depends!.if you're eating a lot after you become a vegetarian and still eat diary and eggs like chocolates,ice cream and cakes i don't think you can lose any weight!.but if you cut off all these oily foods i'm pretty sure you'll lose weight!.i can't said you're fat or not because if you're tall than you're consider normal or average only!.

Just because people don't eat meat do not automatically make them eating healthy!.
If you want to lose weight and be healthy make sure you get plenty of water, fresh veggies, fruits, nuts and protein!. Protein can be beans, soy or curd!. Calcium also helps in the weight loss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2- my sister is 22 and she is a veggitarian for 2 years now and she lost weight!. u have to make sure u r eating right!. now that ur not eating meat u cant just eat potato chips everyday and what not instead of meat!. it can be very unhealthy too because u need meat!. eat eggs a lot (3 times a week at least) and excersize!.

The first question that needs to be asked is are you getting the right vitamins and nutrients because if not then you need to work on that!. You could eat meat or any diet and still get sick likely because you are not getting the proper vitamins and nutrients!. That is the key factor in any diet!. I became a vegetarian a few years ago and I got more energy (though lost a lot doing a lot of late night early morning work and stressing out too much so keep that out of your plans) and I felt and still feel really great!.
Now as far as you being fat, I wouldn't say you are fat but I don't know your height or anything!. The important thing there is do you get enough exercise and move around if you don't then you need too because being "fat" and not moving can kill you and it is not cool or beautiful!. Usually most kids tend to move around a bunch and having a little extra weight for winter isn't bad and it doesn't sound like you are that heavy (though again don't know height)

If you eat only pizza and ice cream and junk you will probably be unhealthy and gain weight, but if you eat lots of fruits, veggies, nuts and whole grains you will be better off (though I am not going to lie I still eat pizza and ice cream and stuff I just don't eat it all the time and I eat plenty of the good stuff as well or at least try too)
I have a feeling you need more vitamin C and probably some antioxidants could help (I like Acai a lot but blueberries and typically dark fruits usually contain them as well as tomatoes) though you should check with a nutritionist as I am not one and also talk to a decent doctor about it!.
