Answers:
i don't consider someone a vegetarian if they eat fish!. fish is meat!. it's still the flesh of an animal!. and it's dumb to argue that fish aren't an animal, because even if scientifically they're not, it's still basically the same thing!.

so don't eat fish :) and good for youWww@FoodAQ@Com

It has two eyes, a mouth, a digestion system, a beating heart, gills to breathe, and it moves around!. Does that sound like a plant to you!?

If you want to get technical, meat is comprised the muscle of a creature (that's why the organs people eat are still called by their individual names, but the muscle is collectively called "meat")!. Fish have muscles, and when killed and gutted, it's those muscles that we eat!.!.!.therefore, it is a meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Everything on Earth falls into one of three classes: animal, vegetable, or mineral!. Fish obviously do not classify as plants and they are obviously not related to rocks, so that pretty much leaves one thing: animal!. Eating fish is eating the flesh of what is definitely an animal so I don't see how anyone wouldn't classify it as a meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, fish is meat!.
I'm a vegetarian too, and as vegetarians, we don't eat any sort of meat, poultry, fish, or gelatin(animal ligaments)
You see, I have a lot of "vegetarian" friends, however someone who does not eat meat, but eats fish is called a pescetarian!.
I guess that makes me the only true vegetarian at my school!.
Hope this helps!.

Vegan=Does not consume any sort of meat(i!.e poultry, fish, etc), gelatin or products from animals, like dairy!.
Pescetarian=Does not consume meat with the exception of fish!.
Vegetarian=Does not consume any sort of meat(i!.e poultry, fish, etc), or gelatin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It really depends how you classify yourself!. Vegans, for instance, don't eat any bi-product of living things, which would include fish!. While fish isn't technically considered meat, most vegetarians don't eat it because it was once a living thing!.

Hope that helps :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

The Catholic policy of fish on Fridays and the Jewish laws of kashrut making fish a "pareve" food have contributed to the confusion, I'm sure!.

But fish is animal flesh and is therefore meat!. Vegetarians don't eat fish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Technically it is meat, it is after the muscle of an animal!. However, many vegetarians make an exception for fish in order to have a readily available source of protein!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

your friend is a pescetarian!. vegetarians do not eat living creatures!. tell your friend she is a poser using the vegetarian label to make herself look goodWww@FoodAQ@Com
