Can Someone Be A "Good" Person If They Have ZERO Compassion For Other Life Forms?!
((The Yahoo staff deleted my original question; so I will change it around a bit!. But I honestly still want to understand from those who are not into Animal Rights; why those of us that are into those rights are considered "Bad" people!? Hopefully this time the Yahoo staff will just let the question be answered and not delete it because one of their staff members didn't like my question!. Or because someone just likes ranting to Yahoo!. I made sure this question fits within the rules of this site!. The opinions between the questions are "MY" opinions; I'm not trying to state facts!. So there is no need to cite the info!.)
(Yahoo Rule: ASK CLEARLY)--Why is it so hard for people to understand why there is some people that support Animal Rights!? It seems like when anyone posts a question related to Animal Rights; people come in and bash us!. So why can other people have such deep beliefs on things like religion, but we can't have that same type of passion for Humans and Animal Rights; without being called "Fanatics" or "Extremist"!?
(Yahoo Rule: SHARE WHAT YOU KNOW!. MY OPINIONS)-- If you can put your arrogance aside for a few moments; you would see Humans and Animals are more alike then we are different!. We all have a Mom and Dad!. We are all born through some processes in which what people call a "Soul" is used to animate the body!. And one day we will all face death and all of it's unknowns!. So Humans and Animals both only get 1 life on Earth; and the idea that the 1 life Humans/Animals get is spent suffering makes us sick!. When you understand Animals you understand that they feel the same emotions that Humans do!.
(Yahoo Rule: ASK CLEARLY)--You look into your dogs eyes and see love right!? But how often do you look into the eyes of other Animals!?
(MY OPINIONS) The difference between those of us into Animal Rights and those who only care about themselves; is that we have looked into the eyes of other animal species; so we see the things that others are just too arrogant to see!. Add to this the understanding these Animals don't have the same laws protecting them; then we see a problem we can actually do something about!. I don't know about anyone else, but once you see those videos of Animals suffering; they don't go away!. Some people may be so callus that they can just laugh it away, but for those of us that care about Compassion; we can't!. I think for a person to be Truly "Good" that their actions should be Good!. And justify it anyway you want to, but by living 1 part of your life where you respect Humans, but then spending the other part causing Animals to suffer; that doesn't make anyone a Good person!. What those people that kill Animals without remorse don't understand, is that they just used the same part of their emotions that serial killers do when they kill!. They turned off their humanity and compassion, so they could kill without remorse, and that isn't normal behavior!.
(Yahoo Rule: ASK CLEARLY)--What if our actions are really meant to weed the Good from the Bad in order to allow for the Best type of Human Being to go through to the next level when we pass away!?
(MY OPINIONS) I would imagine a Psychopath's soul is going to be just tossed in the trash, because they were a failed experiment!. But the Compassionate souls have not failed at their fate!. If God created ALL life, then ALL life was meant to be treated the same!. At least that is how Animal Rights Activist feel!.
(Yahoo Rule: BE COURTEOUS) Were not all going to see eye-to-eye on every single issue, but we shouldn't be treated poorly because we care about other issues not related to our own personal well being!. To some, Animals are just food!. To others they are living creatures that are so much like Humans that it sickens us to know they are suffering!. The MYTH is that people into Animal Rights are NOT for Human Rights; which is 100% False!. We care about all of the "LIFE" here on Earth!. And you don't have to be a fanatic to be for Animal Rights!. As long as you Care and show Compassion for other creatures; then your helping the world!. So please keep this in mind next time you feel the need to treat us badly because you don't understand our cause!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People who have zero Compassion For Other Life Forms are considered sociopaths!. Most cereal killers started by torturing animals!. I'm not saying that meat eaters are sociopaths, but they have fooled them selfs into thinking that eating meat is necessary for servival!. Isn't it odd that the same logic is used when mankind bombs cities full of little children!. :-(Www@FoodAQ@Com
The definition of care and compassion is as varied as there are people!. I care for animals but I have no compunction about eating them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"So why can other people have such deep beliefs on things like religion, but we can't have that same type of passion for Humans and Animal Rights; without being called "Fanatics" or "Extremist"!?"
This isn't special to animal rights activists, my friend!. You even named religion up there!. Have you been in the R&S section lately!? It's just a bunch of people bashing others for their beliefs!. Check out the politics section and you'll see the same thing!. It's just something stupid people do!.
"You look into your dogs eyes and see love right!? But how often do you look into the eyes of other Animals!?"
I think the issue here is that some people have been ingrained to believe that it's just mobile food, not something to see love in!. Remember, human being enslave other human beings!. Some people just lack compassion when it comes to making their lives easy!.
"What if our actions are really meant to weed the Good from the Bad in order to allow for the Best type of Human Being to go through to the next level when we pass away!?"
This is something that I have considered when I went vegan!. Will this be part of what I am supposed to learn!? Only time will tell, but just like religion, people shouldn't go vegan just because they're afraid of an afterlife!.

Yes they can!. Think about all of the symbiotic organisms in and on your body!. Those are life forms!. You are a host for their death every day!. You step on animals you don't even see!. Your existence is a holocaust of death and life form genocide every moment of every day!. And even if you are gone by ending your participation in this game of life and death, it continues without you!. Animals will still keep killing each other!. It never ends!.
I had a cat!. It liked to eat mice!. He was my companion for 14 years!. Cats have to eat meat!. Was he a good cat!? I'd like to think he was!.
The point is, I am not ruled by guilt or fear!. I am aware of the circle of life and my role in it as an omnivore, and to a larger extent, my impact on the planet as a whole!. I think a good person is a person of nature, both the natural world and human nature!.
I don't think you are a good person because you are contrary to nature, how the animal world operates, how your biology operates and how we are naturally designed to run on multiple sources of food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you're very passionate about what you believe and I applaud your convictions!. However I also find some of your comparisons a little disturbing, espec the one where you compare animal butchery to the actions of a serial killer!. There's a whole different mindset in play and the two actions are completely separate!. I'm not trying to rubbish your beliefs but I think your frustration at life is getting the better of you!.
I adore all my animals and I've taken in many strays and misfits over the years, I'm also a community vet and part of that job is to put some misfortunate animals out of their misery!. It's no where near killing an animal for meat but I still get criticism from some areas for doing it!. I also educate small time farmers on humane animal husbandry and free range farming but not everyone agrees with that either!. It seems that no matter what anyone does it can be seen as wrong in someone elses eyes!. I'm sure the people who work in the abattoirs see what they do as a supply and demand service and feel that they are providing an essential product to the market, which I suppose they are as most of us are meat eaters!. It's unfair to label them as bad or put them in the same category as psychopaths and serial killers!.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from here, and that you can take some of my opinions on board just as I have done with yours!.
Good luck to you!.

Im not for or against animal rights i see where they are important and dont need to be killed for their body parts but i also dont think they should be held up where a person is like when someone kills a dog they get time in jail but if someone is accused of killin and person or molestin a child they get little or no time (the killin people part im referin to o!.j!. The molesting michael jackson) thats a bunch of bull!. But its your choice to protect animals or not to Www@FoodAQ@Com
they can't, it is not possible for someone to be a good person when they support the torture that """""meat"""""" animals are caused!. i am not even a good person because i am only a vegetarian and drink milk and eat eggs which supports the slaughter of cows and chickensWww@FoodAQ@Com
I hear what you're saying!. It seems like some folks think that just b/c we're for animal rights, we place those lives above human lives and that is simply not true!.
I do think that all forms of life (in its various stages) deserve to exist in the most calm and peaceful way possible!. Factory farming is not conducive to this!.!.!.!.sweat shops are not conducive to this!. For me, exploitation is exploitation no matter what species it is!.

Still reads kind of like a rant!.
It's very clear from your question that you disagree strongly with those who don't support animal rights and think that speciesism is way off base!. It takes a defensive tone from the start, which makes it seem less of a question and more of a defense/challenge/whatever!.
The best way to ask this question would be, "What are your thoughts on animal rights and why!?" If you wanted to be specific, you could say, "If you support animal rights, why do you think they are important!?" and "If you don't support animal rights, why not!?"
Easy!. It's not leading in any way!.
Just ignore the people who say stupid stuff about animal rights supporters!. They're trying to get a rise out of you, or genuinely trying to voice their opinion, which they have every right to do!.
Personal ethics and values are very different from person to person and we all have a right to our beliefs!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Quite a long question and I have a few points to make so I'll try not to ramble too much!.
The animal rights cause has been tarnished by a minority of fanatics who have taken their beliefs too far!. We hear of explosions at restaurants and one particular case here in the UK that I recall where a woman died trying to save beef cattle that she believed were inhumanely transported!. She left behind three small children who obviously weren't as important to her as the cause!.
A Muslim could be walking down the street, minding his own business!. He has never harmed anyone in his life, he works hard, studies hard and just gets on with things!. Thanks to a minoity of fanatics this Muslim will endure taunts and insults just getting to work!. He just has to put up with it!. Do you, as an animal activist have to put up with this kind of behaviour on a daily basis!? Or does it just happen when you open your mouth!? You have a choice!. But you have to realise that as soon as you call yourself an animal activist some people will inevitably put you in the same basket as the silly cow mentioned above!. This is a long-winded way of saying 'quit whining!'!.
Slaughterhouses aren't filled with mindless psychopaths with a lust for killing!. Most of the people working there are just trying to put food on the table and keep a roof over that table!. In this western world they are probably the closest thing we have to hunter-gatherers!. Obviously, human nature being what it is, slaughterhouses will attract the occasional borderline psycho in the same way that amusement parks attract paedos but my hubby has worked in a few meat processing plants and those guys are drummed out by the other guys pretty sharpish!. Yes I know that not all of them will be driven out but the majority are!. My hubby went to work at those plants because he couldn't get any other work yet you compare him to a serial killer because he wanted to feed his babies! How dare you!
As an atheist I'm really beginning to hope that God exists and tosses your soul into the pig trough!.

If you want an honest answer it's because we are all mammals!. Lions don't feel sorry for the prey they kill and devour!. Dingos don't build rodent sanctuaries!. Humans kill and eat other mammals!. We have the choice and privilege of an omnivorous diet but we still as a whole eat other mammals!. It's not a hate thing, it's a hunger and taste thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I agree with everything you say!. Who would of thought a person with the name 'Chain boxer" would have ethical sense! heh!.
