I became a vegetarian when I was 8 years old!. Then when I was at college I went on a field trip, the kind of thing where they send you out into the wilderness for the day with a packed lunch!. And at lunch time it turned out the veg option was in fact a tuna sandwich! I'm sorry to say that stuck halfway up a mountain on a freezing cold day, with no other food for miles around, I was so hungry I ate it - and it was delicious!. That could have had something to do with the starving on a mountain situation of course!.
After that I ate fish now and then for a few years, and I can honestly say that I enjoyed it from the start!. I now eat meat, but for me that took a lot more getting used to than fish!. Chicken not so much, but beef, pork etc did have a very particular and challenging taste, much more so than I remembered from when I was a kid!. For a while I would really enjoy the first few bites, but get a bit repelled by the whole idea after that!.
These days I eat fish and meat quite regularly!. Only ethically sourced/humanely reared though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I did after being veg 1 year (ate a turkey sandwich, just because my mom had bought it for me and was very emotional that day, didn't want to set her off)!. It smelled like rotten food and made me have stomach cramps for 12 hours afterward!. Just awful!. I haven't eaten poultry or red meat since!.

I did, however, fall off the wagon when it comes to seafood!. I thought it tasted pretty good once I had it again, but then, I hadn't eaten any protein-rich foods for weeks at that point!.!.!. so!.!.!. yeah!. I started eating it because I became allergic to soy products, eggs, and wheat!.

Just to add - I am not American!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When I First Intentionally ate meat again it was because my brothers's dared me to - and of course like most siblings you somtimes tend to challenge your other siblings to do something that you would never imagine they would ever say "Yes" to!. When I ate the meat not only did it have a strange taste to it but also I really began to feel guilty after wards!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

i had a lapse a while ago, and i did it because i was having a hard time getting a well rounded diet in a sorority house that only served food "family style!." it was a HORRIBLE decision, and i went back to being a vegetarian later!. now i'm a vegan!.

i think the first thing i ate was chicken!.!.!.!.!.i tried to keep it light!. it was a while before i went back to red meat!.
when i ate it, i cried!.!.!.!.!.!.and then i got sick!. it was awful!.
once again, one of the dumbest things i've ever done!! Www@FoodAQ@Com

Became a vegetarian (not vegan) at about age 30!. Added fish back to my diet when I became pregnant at age 36 (Dr!. was worried about child development)!. Had no adverse effects at all!. Since then I still eat some fish and seafood regularly!. Have never felt guilty!. also have not added back any other meats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
