Answers:
The answer before mine has given you the best reasons for avoiding milk products; there's no need to add to that answer!.

Another answerer, however, has done something a few people on this forum tend to do - thrown in the C word without having any knowledge of the subject whatsoever!.

The only link between dairy and cancer is that a diet high in dairy is thought to be a possible risk factor in prostate cancer!. A risk factor is not a cause, and the link hasn't been conclusively shown!. And that's the only known connection between dairy and any of the 200+ diseases that come under the umbrella title of cancer!.

False scaremongering and making exaggerated and unsubstantiated claims for the dangers of non-vegan foods does not do vegans any favours!.

And btw, don't bother with the book Skinny B*tch; among its many faults is that the authors encourage a huge consumption of processed food!. Their sources are often dubious, and they claim the diet will protect against cancer - completely false, vegans get cancer tooWww@FoodAQ@Com

1!. Dairy cows are constantly impregnated and then have their calves removed from them!. Not only does this cause a lot of stress for mother and baby, but the male cows that are born are destined to become veal cows!. Supporting dairy is supporting veal, as Meet Your Meat puts it!.

2!. Dairy cows are hooked up to machines over and over again, which can hurt their udders!. Their pained udders become infected, but they aren't treated!. Not only is this bad for the cow, but delicious things like their pus gets into the milk!.

3!. Pasteurized dairy (what you buy in the store) has been super-heated to kill off the bacteria!.!.!.including the good bacteria to maintain intestinal flora and beneficial enzymes that people need to aid in dairy digestion!. Many people who are lactose intolerant are actually able to consume raw (unpasteurized) milk with no problem!. Pasteurized milk does have salmonella outbreaks as well, and that milk has to be recalled!. Raw milk, on the other hand, still contains all the good guys to help combat the invaders!.

There are a host of plants that provide calcium and vitamin D, it doesn't just come from milk!. :) Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think you should totally avoid dairy, and cut it out of your life altogether, but there is speculation on the dangers of dairy!. Like in milk, to make the cow produce milk faster, they give it chemicals!. The chemicals get mixed in with the milk it produces, and we eventually drink those chemicals, which could be harmful!. But, dairy has a lot of healthy stuff in it, like calcium and vitamins!. So eating a little bit of dairy in proportions is okay!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Think about it cow's milk is for baby cows!. We are the only species in the planet that drinks the milk of another species!.
If we were meant to drink milk as grown ups we would be literally sucking our mom's breast!.
The government has brainwashed everyone about MILK!.
Milk is actually bad for you and the earth!. you should do a deep research on it!.
ignorant people always say "you need calcium" from milk but there is other things you can eat that have lots of pure calcium w/out the FAT,PUSS,OBESITY,BLOOD, AND CANCER only to name a few!.
STAY AWAY FROM MILK please read Skinny Bitc# by Rory and Kim I promise to you "I am not a book person" you will enjoy the book and learn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Val P gave some good points!. The cows are given hormones, antibodies, steroids and aren't fed a good diet!. This stuff gets in to the milk which humans eventually consume!. (This is a speculation of early puberty in children, especially girls!.) I was conscious of this long before I was even pregnant!. Now that I have a 12!.5 month old daughter, I'm more conscious of it!. I certainly was when she was in her first few months of life when she was still developing and in the first six months when she nursed exclusively!. Even now, I'm thoughtful of it, and I still only have one beer at a time one or two times a week, at best!.

I could tell you, but these sites would be more informative!.
