How should I go about stopping being a vegetarian?!

Question: How should I go about stopping being a vegetarian!?
Ok, so first to all the vegetarians/ vegans out there: this is a very hard decision for me, I love being vegetarian and I don't really want to stop (and you may not understand why I am as you keep reading) but I still don't approve of the animal treatment and I will still be eating vegetarian as much as possible!.

So here goes the story!. I am a Christian and my first goal in life is to follow God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength!. This summer I will be going into the jungles of the Amazon on a mission trip!. Awesome, I know :) I am very excited about this and I know that this is something God wants me to do - I am called to serve in missions across the world!. This is not something that is going to be changing anytime soon!.
Therefore when I go I will be living with indigenous peoples out in the amazon and they will be cooking my food!. Hence my problem!. I can't just not eat because 1) I would be very very hungry and 2) it's rude not to eat what they serve you!. And I know this eating will include meat!.

So how do I go about trying to develop my body so when I go to the Amazon I can eat the food and not be sick my entire trip!? Some food will be normal but also I will be eating anaconda and other interesting meats like that!.

thanks for your help!

This happened to my friend, and this how we went about dealing with it!. He started to eat soups with chicken in them!. Then he gradually made his way to chicken nuggets and eggs for breakfast!. So take it slow from meat to meat, and I suggest having beef last!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

same thing happened to my friend, she just gradually started eating chicken and fish (made her sick the first couple of times) but she eventually got used to it!. whenever she can, she wont eat meat, but at least she wont get sick from it now

good luck, and im sorry you had to make that choiceWww@FoodAQ@Com

i agree with maggie!. start little and work your way up!. i eat 99% vegetarian!. i go to a lot of family functions where meat is served!. also, i live in alabama, so the word "vegetarian" isn't understood here!. lol!. your trip sounds fun! have a great time!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cool the Amazon
Well I'm not a vegatarian
But I'm close!!! lol
so I would try eating a little bit of meat a day
and then you can eat the meat over there

:)
good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's sad!.
Slowly start eating meat!.
Then when you come back become veg agian(:Www@FoodAQ@Com

start with chicken and fish, then move your way up to pork and beef!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

try bacon in the morning!. and then move your way up to meat sandwiches for lunch then maybe some bacon bits on a potato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You must remember that a meat-heavy diet isn't natural to many peoples!. Even though you'll be eating meat in the Amazon, it will NOT be close to any amounts that are eaten in your country! Additionally, all the meats will be natural, without any junk added to them!. Part of the reaction you have to meat is all the crap that's in there!. In the Amazon, you won't be getting the antibiotics, growth hormone, and other junk injected into the animals!.

Basically, there's nothing you can do to prep yourself unless you start eating natural meats!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
