Hmmm, well, first off, oreos are vegan (they totally save my life sometimes) and so are twizzlers (which has vegetable, not animal, glycerin)!. Some of the more common ingredients that are animal derived but may not sound like it are:
Whey
Carmine/Cochineal
Casein
Gelatin
Lanolin
Lactic Acid/Lactic Yeasts
Rennet
Stearyl Alcohol/Stenol
Tallow
But really, I think your best bet is to stick, as much as possible, to whole foods!. I mean, you don't have to read any labels on some broccoli! Offering to cook some meals for dinner if your family is willing to try your vegan creations is also a great idea, and they will get to see how well you're eating!. I always tell my omni mom "Hey, you always told me to eat my vegetables! I'm just doing what you said!"Www@FoodAQ@Com

My parents too didn't agree with my change of diet!. But I just explained to them the things i learned from Skinny Bit--!. After a few months of being vegan, my dad said he wanted to try it out!. He noticed that my skin was glowing and i was a happier person!. He ended up not trying it out though!. Bummer!. Not enough motivation i guess!. Anyway!. The problems you will have living vegan in a non vegan house!.!.!.!.!.!.their vegetarian foods will prob have butter smothered all over it, and other recipes used will prob have dairy and what not!. Hopefully your parents will come to respect your decision and keep a little bowl separate for you!.
