I would like to become a vegetarian again?!

Question: I would like to become a vegetarian again!?
I was a vegetarian for about 4 months last year, but I don't think I was eating enough protein, because I swim twice a day for highscool team!. I ended up getting really sick, and had to start eating meat again!.

I still don't believe in eating animals, even though I eat them!. :\
Anyways, what are some foods that are very high in protien that I could eat!? Thanks!. :]
I'd really love to become a vegetarian again!! Any tips or anything will help, too!

I've been a vegetarian for about 7 months!. I was on my high school swim team last year when I made the switch to a no-meat diet, but it didn't keep me from doing anything! My school swim has practice everyday so my parents were concerned I wouldn't have enough energy!.To show that I really was compassionate about animals and that I wasn't comfortable going back I did a lot of research online and talked to my friends who are athletes and need a lot of protein!. The good news is I found a way to stay completely veg & you should too!

First of all I started drinking protein shakes!. You can buy the powder at any supermarket!. My favorite flavor is vanilla and it mixes perfectly into any kind of milkshake!. You can take vitamins too!. The biggest thing you can do is to start eating foods like beans, breads, tofu, rice, and tons of vegetables!. Tofu seems a little different at first, but you just have to find the right kind and see what kind of alternatives there are!. There are a lot of incredibly healthy vegetarian alternatives that they sell pretty much everywhere!. They make veggie burgers and meatless chicken & fish patties too! Eat healthy, protein rich foods combined with those extra shakes/vitamins and you should be fine!

Good luck! I was so happy when I realized you CAN be a vegetarian athlete!! :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you give up being vegetarian for just 4 months and go to eating meat I bet you'll do that again!. There are many yo-yo vegetarians!.!. losers! Remember: Winners never Quit and Quitters never win! You probably weren't eating enough fruit and enough iron veggies! Fruits you should eat are Papaya, Bananas, Pumpkin, Watermelon, Tomato,
Veggies: Beets, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Aspargus, Alfalfa! also eat wheats, grains, seeds, cereals, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I eat whole wheat bread with peanut butter and i get my complete protein and other macro-nutrients that way!. Then I can eat all the fruits and vegetables I want without worrying about not getting enough protein, carbohydrates or fats in my diet!.
And maybe eat a lot of green peas!. they're pretty delicious and also have all the proteins that you're body can't make on it's own!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

nuts, seeds, cereals, beans, almonds or almond butter, quinoa, lentils, soy, soy drink, tofu!. I eat all kinds of things!.

eggs are good too, however they have lots of cholesterol!. one egg has 2x more cholesterol than the maximum daily level!. if you eat them, oats are good against cholesterol!.

flax seeds will give you vitamin B12 and omega 3+6 atty acids!. these things are mostly found in meat!. and you can get vitamin D from being on the sun cause vitamin D is mostly found in fish!. kelp is also healthy, it has calcium and iron!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I got the BEST natural vegetable protein for ya!. I discoivered it while at my Chiropractors office in a readers digest!. PAPAYAMINE its papaya protein!. I drink the shakes and totally LOVE IT!. Its 100% NON ANIMAL and better for you than whey or soy!.

Broccoli, potatoes, & beans have lots of protein!. I recommend using the broccoli in smoothies mixed with various fruit you can barely taste it:pWww@FoodAQ@Com

there are lots of protien drinks that you could drink after training and stuff, but a lot of them taste horrible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have been a vegan for about a year now and love it, although after about 3 months, i felt a little run down, and a little weaker than before!. I did some reading, and found out there are some things you need to be aware of!.!.!.!.specifically for me, i wasn't getting enough calories, i was not taking a vitamin B12 supplement, and I wasn't getting enough vitamin D, which vegetarians sometimes lack!.!.!.!.!.But now I feel wonderful, and every day I am so happy I made this decision!. I am listing a link to a website called vegan outreach that has a great free starter guide which has about 7 pages called STAYING HEALTHY ON PLANT-BASED DIETS, which is excellent!. Even if you're not ready to go vegan, it's still well researched, and a condensed, easy to understand booklet!.
Boca burgers!.!.!.!.!.has 18g of protein per patty!.!.!.!.!.I add smoke flavor to mine, which really adds to the flavor!. Good luck to you, I wish the best!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
