Is ALL toothpaste & mouthwash suitable for vegans?!
Answers:
I've never heard of Macleans!. Listerine however, is not vegan!. It is produced by Johnson & Johnson, who test on animals!. Tom's Of Maine is now owned by Colgate, so it is technically no longer vegan!. :( Although, by that standard, many vegan things would not be vegan, really!.
I'm not sure about mouthwash, but toothpaste by J/A/S/O/N, Nature's Gate, and Kiss My Face is vegan!. I use J/A/S/O/N!. Nature's Gate or J/A/S/O/N might also make mouthwash, but I'm not sure!. You could probably make your own mouthwash by mixing some water, alcohol, and tee tree oil or something like that!. I'm sure there are recipes for homemade mouthwash on the internet somewhere!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Many brands of toothpaste and mouthwash are vegan inasmuch as their contents, but nearly all test on animals!. Some even say "this finished product not tested on animals", but that still means parts of it were!.
Being a vegan myself, I avoid the entire issue by brushing my teeth with baking soda and water!. I find that it scrubs and whitens better anyway, and once a week I use hydrogen peroxide rather than water in the paste for extra whitening!. If you really love the mint of commercial toothpaste, you can always add a drop of minty essential oil (never tested on animals)!.
This website is also a good resource!. It has a list of mouthcare products that contain no animal products!. however, it makes no references to animal testing!.
