1!. We do not have the teeth, mouth, or jaw fit to bite into a live animal!.
2!. We are lacking two legs compared to that of a carnivore, which makes us extremely slow runners and takes away from our hunting ablity!. Making us rely on man-made things such as guns, not something nature provided us with!.
3!. We lack claws, which I would think would be an important tool for a meat eater!.
4!. We have to cook our meat to avoid getting sick, which kills all the enzymes and important vitamins!. Since when does a animal designed to eat meat have to cook it to avoid getting sick!?
5!. Our digestive tract is 25 to 30 feet in length, where as a carnivore's is only 12 feet!. Which means it takes a much longer time for the meat to get through our systems, allowing it to rot inside of us!. Carnivores don't have that problem!. also, our tracts are rigged, not meant for the consummation of meat!. Meat eating animals tracts are very smooth!. Because of our rigged intestines, meat has a hard time getting through, most of the time getting stuck in the pockets of our intestines!.
6!. Carnivours hydraulic stomach acid is 3 x stronger than ours!.
7!. Animal protein has been proven to be harmful to our health!. It takes Alot of energy from our bodies just to break it down into a usable form!. When you cook it you do even more damage because of the change in molecule structure!.
8!. People who eat meat regularly get way too much protein in their diets!. More people are sick from too much protein than not enough now days - fact!.
9!. For the people who say, "Animals eat other animals, its natural to eat meat!." Well yes, but are we more similar in design to a gorilla or a lion!? Gorillas are vegetarians!.
10!. Do you drool at the sight or smell of road kill!? Is it a natural instinct of yours to want to go up smell/eat it!? That wouldn't even be a question for a natural carnivour!.
It isn't until we nicely season it and stick it on the grill that we start to drool!.
Next time they say our bodies our designed to eat meat, throw some facts in their face!. That's an extremely common thing for a meat eater to say!.!.!.!. but they have never have any backbone to their argument, Well, besides the whole "protein" thing!. But I just bashed that one too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's completely false!. You can get protein from many other things besides meat, like cheese, eggs, protein supplements, and many other foods!. There are healthy meat-eaters, and there are healthy vegetarians as well!. Sometimes being a vegetarian is way healthier than eating meat!.
I'm a vegetarian, and I believe it's right because I just can't bring myself to eat a dead body!. That's basically what meat is to me!. I love animals more than anything, so I don't eat them!. I don't see any difference between eating a cow and eating a human!.
Good luck, and I hope I helped! :]

Back in the caveman days humans needed meat to survive!. there were not enough plants to keep humans healthy!. So yes - technically we were made to be omnivores (plant and animal eaters)!. But are we living in prehistoric caveman days!? NO! Humans no longer need meat to survive, so they shouldn't eat it!. I'm sure the next human species after us (the one after homo sapiens , evolutionary wise) will be designed to be herbivores!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

While I choose to eat meat, a person can live well on a vegetarian diet!. You don't need "meat" proteins, but you do need complete proteins that have all of the amino acids in them (I think there are seven amino acids needed to build a complete protein, but you'll want to check)!. In order to get complete proteins you have to be more careful about choosing the appropriate foods and in the right combinations!. Most vegetable protein does not contain all of the necessary amino acids, so you have to combine them to be sure you get all you need (I believe soy is a complete protein, but again, you should check)!. For example, combining grains and legumes (think rice and beans) will get you the same complete protein as a chunk of meat does, but broccoli alone won't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Humans ARE meant to eat meat!. We're omnivores, its just what our bodies naturally crave and eat!. A lot of the ideals for the vegetarian lifestyle came about as a rebellion to the meat and potatoes diet that American's are obsessed with!. The horrible over consumption of red meat that America was devouring is terrible for the body!. But anything to an extreme is dangerous and unhealthy!. I don't eat meat because I hate the things they do to caged animals and I don't want to poison my body with the chemicals and hormones!. But "Happy Meat" (free range organic meat) is perfectly clean and humane (and very expensive)!.
You can't press your ideals on anyone else!. If people are attacking you for it, explain your own reasoning (ie, meat makes you sick, slaughter houses are inhumane, or whatever your reasons are)!. But you won't convince many people to see the way you do!.
Americans are raised with a certain diet and we tend to dislike changing it, red meats being a quintessential part of this diet!. There is nothing wrong with eating or not eating meat!. Just no extremism, no pushing your ideals, and know why you're doing it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't really answer as to whether or not we are suppose to eat meat but I do feel that if we were meant to do it, it would be on a much smaller scale rather than the mass slaughter we have now and people eating meat with every meal!.
Yes your body does require proteins especially in a growing body but many people underestimate Veggies and assume that meat products are the only natural occurring protein!. Which is not the case many beans and anything in the bean family have healthy amounts of protein as well as anything in the nut family!. These are however considered "inferior" to meat proteins but are considered a complete meal when combined with bread and rice!. As long as you are eating a complete meal with all of your bases covered there is no need for meat at all!.
also keep in mind that many many cultures have lived just fine without or with little intake of meat products and they have been doing this for hundreds of years!.
Some of the benefits of not eating meat
Lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, less fat intake, No fear of hurting other living beings, Less likely to get ALL types of cancers, Vegans live on average 15 years longer than a meat eater and vegetarians (still eat dairy) live 7 years longer!. Weight loss, Help reduce waste and pollution, many of the "farms" that raise meat have no real guidelines and produce mass amounts of pollution!. Help reduce famine, Much of the grain in the U!.S is used to feed the animals readying for slaughter only to be wasted in the garbage pail these grains could be helping our fellow humans who are struggling to feed their own families!. Preserve fish populations most of the fish (sea) populations are dwindling due to over harvesting!.
Keep in mind that you will also save money since meat prices are very high at the moment, you can also have a small garden of your own to supplement your diet, even a simple herb garden will remind you of all the good you are doing for yourself and everyone around you, even if they do not realize it!.
To avoid comments by others do as I do, I do not make a statement announcing that I am a vegetarian and usually just hint that I am a picky eater, that is how it really started anyway!.
My family had always purchased pigs to be raised and then slaughtered and since I was a very shy child and we lived in a very isolated area my friends were the animals, I would even take the Piggy's for walks! In my mind I saw no connection with my "pet" pig and the food on the plate, that is until I saw the truck come to pick my friend up and everything was explained to me!. I had two dogs at the time and my pig, to me they were no different and most of the time the pig actually out smarted my labs! I had always been a picky eater but at 11 I made a quiet decision that I no longer wanted to eat my pets, I didn't inform my parents of this and would simply take the side dishes!. I still continued to give the animals that came to the house the best life possible and treat them as if they were part of MY family, and even protested my parents on every occasion!. But to no avail!.!.Good luck and be happy knowing you are saving lives, no matter how low and beneath us some people believe them to be!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm an omnivore (and actually about to go get a cheesesteak when I'm done here - sorry! :) ) and honestly I myself would get annoyed if someone questioned my food choices, so knowing how that makes me feel, I'd never do that to anyone else!. Except probably to the person who looked at a snail and said, "Hey, I could eat that!" In any case, I stopped caring what other people think about how I take care of myself, and being single and alone, I always tell people who feel it their job to tell me what to do that until they start paying my food bill they can't tell me what's right or wrong about my choices!.
I've considered going vegetarian a few times, but I just can't shake the meat craving!
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
