They smell of blood, fear and animal excrement, the staff paddle about in blood in wellington boots and filthy dirty clothes that are stiff with dried blood and entrails!. They are unconcerned about the animals that are driven or goaded with electric prods into the slaughterhouse and don't even recognise them as sentient beings nor accord them a little kindness in the final moments of their miserable lives!. They carry on laughing conversations while manhandling, mistreating and slaughtering these beasts!.

When the animal is killed and hung up to bleed out, or even when it is not killed but is still hung up to bleed out, their work is done!. Until it's time to butcher the carcass!.

Then you are able to eat!.!.and enjoy!?!.!.!.your steak and burgers!.!.!.bearing in mind that burgers may or may not contain nasty bits of intestines or worse that you really wouldn't want to choose to eat!.

On the other hand Quorn contains nothing derived from animals and is low in fat and much much more healthy and every bit as tasty!.

I have always known about slaughter houses but its one of those things you put out of your mind!. I will not eat veal because of the inhumane treatment they receive!. The in your face info we have now is a disgrace that humans behave that way toward a helpless animal, never in humanity's past have we been this callus toward animals!. If more of us stopped eating meat, the industry might pay attention!.The emotional state of the animal at slaughter effects the meat, ancients knew this and great care was taken to respect and be grateful to the animal who gives its life for our mealWww@FoodAQ@Com

As was mentioned before, Meet Your Meat is a video on Youtube that you have to watch in order to get some insight into slaughterhouses!.
They use practices that, if done to a dog or a cat, would get them arrested!. It really is worse than you can imagine!. Watch the video, but only if you're fully prepared to stop eating meat and dairy right away!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Slaughterhouses can be terrible places where morals are checked at the door but not are all like that!. I'd suggest trying locally grown beef if you still want to eat it!. There are many ethical farmers whose kinder methods are more practical because they don't have the large numbers to deal with!. Go to your local farmer's market or health food store for more information!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
