Question: To long time soy consumers, what is your opinion on soy!? and what health effects (good or bad) have you had!?

I have been a vegetarian for over year now and recently made the switch to becoming a ovo-vegetarian!. I am very confident in what I have read regarding the dangers meat and diary have on health, and am further backed up by my strong crusade against factory farms, global warming and the inefficient allocation of resources used to produce meat!.

However, the research over soy is hell to decipher!. I can't find any common, reputable, repeated studies for either side; things contradict in every article; dangers seems prominent, but so do benifits!.

So, I'm asking those who consume a lot of soy products (ESPECIALLY those who have been for many, many years), have you noticed any changes (good or bad) in your health!? What is your opinion on soy!?

My basis for continuing to use soy is simple: it doesn't kill animals!.

I have been eating soy for years, even before I quit eating meat!. I have never had any noticeable effect either way!. I think people who have problems either have a sensitivity or think that the only thing a vegetarian can eat is soy,soy,soy!. A friend of mine asked me if I eat soy at every meal to get enough protein once! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am vegan and I drink soy milk and use it to make puddings and other foods!. I have a fairly balanced diet and I haven't noticed any issues with my health!. I've never been in better health than since I have been vegan!. I like soy so I drink it and eat it in soy cheeses, soy patties etc!.!.!.I don't go overboard but I haven't noticed any negative effects from soy milk or other products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes this is a confusing !?!. I'm a Vegetarian too!. I've cut back on soy as it can in some people play havoc with hormones!. Try Temph too!. Andrew Weil has some good info!. Life Extensions !. org has good info too!.

i eat soy almost everyday, and nothing strange has happened, i totaly agree, soy doesn't kill animals so its fine to eat!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have also become a vegetarian for over a year now and going vegan!. I have done Whey and Soy both are hard for me to digest and have given me lots of stomach problems!.
