Why am I having trouble sleeping on raw food diet?!


Question: Why am I having trouble sleeping on raw food diet!?
I'm lethargic in the day and get my energy at night!. I wake up several times a night!.

Im raw vegan, i never found this though i am always feeling so good!. Are you sure your eating enough of the right things!? getting many different nutrients from a variety of fruits/vegies/seaweed etc!?!?

if you havent already check out http://goneraw!.com, amazing place with so many great recipes!. I hope your not just living on apples and carrots, being raw vegan requires alot of work in preparing food if you want variety and if you want the raw veganism to last (as in satisfy craving etc)

If you dont do it properly you will continue to be lethargic and have insomnia, really check that site out!. Make sure you get the nutrients and calories you need to power your body!.

Hi, I was a raw vegan for 4 years but now I'm about 40% raw!. I wasn't able to continue on the diet because of the side effects despite the fact that I was eating a wide range of food such as nuts, seeds, sprouted grains & fruit and veg!. Lack of protein will cause the symptoms you're describing as will a lack of magnesium!. Iron deficiency will cause you to be lethargic!. A zinc deficiency can also affect your sleep!. Are you taking supplements!? I'd suggest increasing the amount of nuts and seeds you're eating!. Have some almond milk before bed!. also, if you're not already, incorporate chia seeds into your daily diet as they are high in iron and magnesium (and calcium)!. Avocados are also a good source of zinc!. also make sure you are taking in enough calories which can be difficult on a raw food diet because of the high-fiber content!. Try and have green smoothies, nut & seed butters and nut milks everyday for the vitamins & minerals also for the calories!. If you're still feeling this way in 3 months, have a doctor test you for deficiencies!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The most likely reason is the longer time and greater difficulty for your body to process your diet!. Though not horrible for you, the raw diet isn't as fantastic as proponents of it will claim!. It's certainly not the healthiest one you can go with for most people!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds like you are malnourished, especially if you are lethargic!.
