Vegetarians if you were really poor and you had nothing else to eat....?!

Question: Vegetarians if you were really poor and you had nothing else to eat!.!.!.!.!?
and someone killed a deer wouldn't you eat it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes!. I would eat it!. If you're starving you'll put your beliefs aside and eat anything!. Any one that says different has issues!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on what you mean by really poor!. I've been pretty poor, and still remained vegan!. As long as you have a roof over your head & some sort of income, no matter how little, even if you're relying on welfare, then there's really no excuse to give up on your ethics!. I wouldn't go around & start mugging people or selling drugs, just because I was poor, because I believe it's unethical, so why give up on something so simple as a vegan lifestyle!? I would have to be homeless and on the brink of death from starvation to give in like that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can see why this question annoys--it irritates me a bit too, but there is an awful lot of judgment in the answers!. It seems like if someone were so poor and hungry that they would even consider eating something that repulses them, the last thing that they would need is condemnation from a bunch of people who either a) have no concept of what it is like to feel true, life-threatening hunger or b)are so strong in their principals and beliefs that they never question them or the premises behind them (good for you--I question everything)!. Either way, it all boils down to personal choice!. As for me--while the thought of eating Bambi disgusts me--if it is the difference between death, or being around for another day or two to parent my child (who, incidentally, doesn't have anyone but me)--well, you take a guess what I would decide!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It must suck to be a Vegetarian on this site!. When are people going to stop asking hypothetical questions posing situations that have next to no chance of ever actually happening, just to see if a vegetarian would ever eat meat!?!?!?

I'm not even a vegetarian and I'm sick of seeing these ridiculous questions!.

They don't eat meat, people!.!.!.!.they're not a threat, they're not coming to take you away, they're not picketing your houses!.!.!.deal with it and move on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was walking home from work one night and was approached by a homeless man asking for spare change!. I didn't have any but I did have some leftover soup from Wagamama's, I offered him this but he declined it as it contained chicken and he was vegetarian!. I was surprised and asked him if it was difficult being on the streets as a vegetarian and he said why have principles if you give them up at the first hurdle!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a poor vegetarian!.The fact that I am poor is one of the reasons I'm not vegan!.Sometimes when I have nothing else to eat!.I eat bread or soup or eggs!.Having no money is no reason to eat something you wouldn't normally eat!.Thats like saying 'if you were poor and hungry would you eat your sister,dog,baby!?"Www@FoodAQ@Com
