Answers:
Diabetics need to control their sugar and carb intake (carbs raise blood sugar), so becoming a vegetarian would have nothing to do with that at all!. Exercise is always good - especially if they've recently become diabetic due to a weight gain (that happened to my husband)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your friend needs to consult with his/her dietitian for proper guidelines as a diabetics intake of protein and carbs needs to be properly balanced to keep diabetes in control!. Since many vegetarian sources of protein are fairly high in carbs, there maybe some things done differently in those cases!. You are good friend to think of trying to help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Working out, definitely!. Vegetarianism isn't a must- but it will help control some of the fats and sugars that one eats!. I have a friend with a number of health problems and a scary laundry list of allergies, but a Vegan diet seems to help her!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It can help but not necessary!.!.!.Diabetes is a serious condition and your friend needs serious professional medical advice not "I think!.!.!." comments

The American Diabetes Association recommends a diet which includes meat, fish, and dairyWww@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know!. I'm a vegan and I have pre-diabetes even though I'm skinny and I'm only 22!. I think I just have really bad genes (father with type 2, grandfather on mother's side with type 2, brother with type 1)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
