For or Against animal testing?!

Question: For or Against animal testing!?
I'm against it!. In all ways possible!.
Make-up and cosmetics, that's just selfish!. We don't need these things to live our daily lives!. If we want makeup so bad, then we should test it on our selves!.
I can understand why some people are for the medical tests, but think about it!. Everyone is meant to die!. I think that extending a life beyond it's point is stupid!. We find some cure for a horrible disease, and guess what, another incurable one pops up!. AIDS!. I believe that it is nature's way of telling us that our world is over populated and everyone has their time to die!.
Animals have just as many rights as we do!. Humans are animals!. How would you like to be tested on, skinned alive, have your children taken from you, and be abused and neglected!? Animals have no voice, so we must speak up for them!. =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm vegetarian, but even when I wasn't, I was always against animal testing!. In my religion, I believe God gave us permission to eat animals and sacrifice them for certain reasons (only to eat them or give them to those who are needy), but using animals for frivolous purposes like fruity shampoos and make-up is really selfish like you said!. I also think that hunting game for sport, and wearing fur and leather is equally as devious! We should not be killing animals for our own selfish needs!. If you are making something that could possibly backfire or be potentially fatal, maybe that product shouldn't be put on the shelves!. Why test on the animals!? Are they wearing the makeup and using the hair products!? Animals are still living creatures even though they may not be as "civilized" or have opposable thumbs ^_^ We are chopping down trees and killing animals at such a rate that now there are species of both plants and animals that are going extinct! God forbid the same thing happen to us!. Then what will we do!? The world would actually be preserved longer if we were all extinct (I'm not crazy and of course don't support the idea that we all kill ourselves!.!.I'm just stating that this is the only way our Earth will be saved!.!.poor animals!.!.poor Earth!.!.evil humans ^_^)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think we need to test on animals at all!.

If we really want to test anything, we can test it on the convicted felons and those jailed for life!.

But apparently they have more "rights" than animals do in some people's eyes!.

Against it 100%!.

I agree with you on some levels but instead of letting people just die they should find alternative ways to test!. They are suppose to be these super intelligent scientists right!? Well then why can't they come up with alternative ways to test things because last time I checked a humans body is different than a dogs body!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im iffy about animal testing im on the fence

but your saying if an innocent baby is born with AIDs than it's just meant to die right!? so we should never try to find a way to let it live longer!. to let it learn to crawl, walk or talk!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

for frivolous stuff like make-up, against!. But for medical research, very much for

Animals are not humans, and to say they have the same rights trivializes the concept of human rights!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Against 100%!. What they do on the animals for tests, is worse than what they do to cows and pigs, ect, because they cut the animals and give them needles, did u know mars candy company, creator of m&m's tests on animals!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

definitely against
These poor creatures cant protect themselves, cant stand up for themselves!.!.!.!.And get exploited by selfish humans
Www@FoodAQ@Com

Against, all the way!.
If they could talk our language, it'd be seen as cruelty and they wouldn't do it!. They need our voice, the poor poor creatures!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm For if it's for things like cancer treatment but Against for things like make-up and other cosmetics!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

AGAINST! i wont eat ANYTHING thats tested on animals or use anything thats tested on them!. its so cruel!Www@FoodAQ@Com

agianst animal testing !Www@FoodAQ@Com

For!.!. lets kill animals first!.!. then each otherWww@FoodAQ@Com

I am against it!. In any way, shape and how!. I don't think ANYONE deserves what these animals go through!. People are put in a physch ward (and jail) when they do even a fraction of the things to humans that animals are put through!. Yet in our "civilized" society animals are put through this, and they suffer quietly, and nothing is done!. People turn their heads and put a deaf ear to the matter!.
I don't believe that humans have the right to play god with animals (and even unborn babies for that matter)!. We are NO better then them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It isn't just a question of being for or against animal experimentation or testing!.

I am very much against animal testing for products such as cosmetic and cleaning materials, and I am against animal experimentation for its own sake!.

But as someone who owes her life to animal-tested drugs, I am not convinced that there are more reliable ways to test drugs!. I wish there were, but I'm not convinced, and it is too simplistic to argue that animals are not physically the same as us or that some drugs that have been found safe in animals have proved unsafe for humans!. Most medical advances would not have taken place without animal testing!.

I'm vegan to minimise my personal contribution to animal suffering and exploitation as much as I can, but I value human life way, way over animal life!. Including my own - I recently read of a drug that may reduce or prevent metastasis of the cancer I had, and am now in remission from!. It was described as at 'the mouse stage'!. If it ever proves effective and I'm still around, I certainly won't be boycotting it - anyone else who wants first place in the line will have to fight me for it!.

It's easy to say you don't believe in the use of animal-tested drugs and wouldn't use them!. If you or your child or anyone you care about develops cancer or was in a terrible accident, you will be singng a different tune - I guarantee you that!.

Thanks, but I don't feel my life has been extended beyond its point, and I don't think it would have been stupid to have been able to extend the life of my 19 year old friend who died this week from cancer!.

If 'nature' is using cancer or AIDS to stop overpopulation, then nature is being singularly stupid and short-sighted!. It would have been more efficient of nature to select a fast-acting disease that was guaranteed to kill in a short while, not two diseases that can drag on for years!.

Oh and by the way, I dare you to post your theory (the one about cancer medicine pointlessly extending lives and cancer being a form of natural selection and population control) in the Cancer section of YA!. You know, the section used by people who have cancer, some of whom are dying, and by people who are watching their spouse, parent or child die!.

Go on - I double dare you!.

========================
Edit**

I don't want to be too hard on you here - my impression from your question is that you are very young, possibly early teens!. Frankly that is the only excuse there is for your ideas on cancer, illness and death - a lack of life experience!.

But I find it offensive that you should suggest that I, as a person in remission from cancer thanks to medical treatment, have been stupidly kept alive beyond my 'point'!.

And if you could feel just a fraction of the pain that the parents of the 19 year old I mentioned in my answer are feeling right now, you wouldn't be so arrogant and off-hand as to say 'Everyone has their time'!.

When you watch someone you love go through the agony that is end-stage cancer - and you will, you will; with 1 in 3 people getting cancer you can't escape it - do you imagine for a moment that you're going to shrug and say 'Well, the population has to be controlled' or 'Ah well, everyone's meant to die - it would have been stupid to extend her/his life'!?

The whole question of animal-testing aside, what you have written here is crass and thoughtless, and only even remotely excusable by extreme youth and inexperience!.

I know you will feel differently one day; for now please think about what I've said and at the very least have some consideration for people's feelings before you post a half-baked idea you haven't really thought through!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know this kid from NW Indiana!. Nobody really likes him but that's not the point!. He believed like you do that animals should not be tested on for anything!. Then it turns out he tests HIV positive because he'd been sharing his sex toys with his buds at college!. Yeah I know, kinda gross! Anyways, now he's 100% on board with using medicine derived through animal testing!. I kinda feel sorry for the kid now cause he's miserable, hanging out in internet forums all day with no life outside of that!.

Personally, I have no problem with testing things in the medical field because in the end it benefits way more humans AND other animals than it hurts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Everyone is meant to die!. I think that extending a life beyond it's point is stupid"---until it's you or someone close to you!. Obviously serious illness and death has not hit home for you yet!.

Again, talking that talk is way easier than the walk that goes with it!.

I am for testing medicines and medical procedures on animals!. I am against testing other things on them!. You yourself are free to opt out of any lifesaving measures you want to but you certainly can't expect others to do so on your whims!.

You didn't say!.!.!.are you vegan!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vlasak compared the life of lab animals to African American slaves and the Jewish victims of Nazi concentration camps!.

He made his comments while defending a similar statement, made to the news media last year: "I don't think you'd have to kill – assassinate – too many vivisectors before you would see a marked decrease in the amount of vivisection going on!. And I think for five lives, 10 lives, 15 human lives, we could save a million, 2 million, 10 million non-human lives!."

http://www!.worldnetdaily!.com/news/articl!.!.!.

Show me a bear that would kill another bear, to save the life of a million bunnies!.

We eat meat cause we are omnivores just like the bears!. We eat what is avaliable to us for survival!. Nowadays we have too much food!. Veganism/!.raw veganism as a diet just says to eat more fruit, veggies, nuts etc, which isn't bad at all!. On the contrary, we should!. But their belief is what is annoying!.

Willing to kill 15 people to save an animals life is not natural!. No other species on this planet would prefer another species over their own!.

We are omnivores, and the reason fatty food is delicious to us is cause meat wasn't easy to find, so once found, nature gave us the 'command' to eat as much as possible!. That is natural!. But since meat is so easily found today, we do need to tip a little on the vegeterian side cause too much meat will harm us, just like the lack of it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It doesn't bother me either way!. If people can abort a baby why not test on animals!Www@FoodAQ@Com
