Answers:
Maybe they used a molasses like cane sugar syrup which has not been filtered yet!.!.

If you can, try and call the company!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pure cane sugar has not been filter and would not contain any animal products, molasses is a by product of sugar, I use a raw sugar that is not only kosher, but not filtered nor is it adulterated, it is called a Natural cane Extract distillation, which mean after the cane juice is cooked it is allowed to dry naturally and then broken into crystal form, so not filtering in cloth or so called animal products (some believe they still use bone char for sugar, they do not, but who am I to argue), even the sugar in the raw at Starbucks or coffee shops is the same!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think all sugar is refines, how else would you get it out of the cane!?
But obviously, yes it is vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

wait, what!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
