I'm vegan and really want to gain some weight?!

Question: I'm vegan and really want to gain some weight!?
I'm 16, been vegan for almost 2 years, pretty healthy overall, but I've noticed that over the past year I've lost weight/muscle mass and feel pretty tired usually!. I take supplements and get my b12 and protein in regularly, but even before I became vegan I've always had a fast metabolism(also my young age); so i'm finding it hard to gain weight!. I just weighed myself 5 mins ago and i'm now at 112lbs, and im 5'6!. Last year I was a good 120-125 with the same height give or take an inch, so I'm a little worried!. Here's a photo for a better idea:

I'm on the right

Overall I don't think i'm getting sick or anything, but I just wanted to ask if anyone knows of any good vegan drinks, smoothies, recipes for meals etc!. that I can start making to help gain weight faster (believe me I do eat a lot)!. & Please don't reccommend any non-vegan or even vegetarian options, I'm not here to reconsider my lifestyle!.

Thanks for the helpWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hello, I'm 15 and am a vegan as well :)

A reason you might be having trouble with your weight is because most plant sources, while relatively high in protein, are still low in calories when compared to animal sources!. For this reason you'll need to eat a lot more food!.

If you want to gain weight, I would suggest eating larger meals!. For example, at breakfast you could eat a bagel with a fruit salad and veggie breakfast patties!. For lunch dig into a vegetable sandwich with chips and celery and peanut butter on the side!. For dinner, why not try barbecuing up a Boca burger!? You can cook sweet potato fries on the side with mashed potato's!. For dessert try baking some vegan cookies or cupcakes :)

You can also try drinking shakes to have for snacks or at breakfast!. My personal favorite is a Strawnanna shake!. It consists of one cup of soy milk, one cup of frozen bananas and one cup of frozen strawberries!. I drink it with my breakfast occasionally and it is very tasty :) You can also get protein powder to put in your bottled water for some extra calories!.

Another tip, if you want to gain weight, try eating more protein!. It packs on muscle :) You can get this from mock meats, brown rice, nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc!.), tofu, beans (pinto, black, refried, etc!.) and lots of other foods!. And soy is also an excellent source of protein, so drink up! Make sure to also check out soy yogurts and soy cheeses :) Mmmm!

Well good luck and hope I helped! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, maybe you're not eating enough carbs!? That's all I can think of!. I'm vegan, and when I eat more carbs than fats and proteins I'm usually really hungry!. The more protein I add, the less hungry I get!. So I'm thinking eat some bread, or eat less nuts!. I'm not really sure however, you'd have to say what you eat on a regular basis!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mix whole wheat flour with tomato juice!. just a teaspoon for a 8 oz glass!. you won't taste the flour , and it will increase your weight if you drink it 3 times a day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well!.!.!. my sister is a vegan and what she dose is she dosent eat real meat but fake meat like boca burgers!. :) they taste really good too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

increase your caloric intake!. Find out how many calories a 125lb woman needs and try to meet that goal daily!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know you don't want to hear this, but eat some meat, at least some eggs, or fish!. I am an ex vegetarian, and my health was suffering, I too felt very weak, and looked very pale and lost weight, I started eating meat again, and almost instantly my complexion improved, I had my energy back, and am putting on weight again!. Seriously all this crap about meat being bad for you is a bunch of propaganda!. Look at all the vegs that are iron deficient, calcium deficient and anemic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eat a steak
followed by a nice cold glass of milk
and for dessert how about shepards pie!.
